Irrespective of whether you personally believe Russia (or Israel) should be allowed to compete, the FIG has ruled they are and this is two Worlds in a row now where the host LOC has violated the FIG Statutes.

I'm also not a fan of allowing countries actively instigating war the ability to behave normally in global sports (and that goes for MANY countries rn, not just Russia) but I do NOT believe in this picky-choosy punishment. Kalmykova makes NO sense and her denial is giving petty.

It NEEDS to be all or nothing. Either ban RUS and other NOCs actively menacing the world/murdering children, or do nothing AS PER USUAL @ FIG @ IOC. Allowing host NOCs the pretense of TaKiNg a sTanD by banning an athlete with no history of pro-war behavior is nonsensical.

I can't say i feel particularly bad for the russian athletes but it's all very Odd like why allow some and not others. And if (as rusfed claim) they're trying to sabotage their medal chances then why would they approve the 2 best rusmag who will definitely challenge for medals...
