Sex work freed me from being raised in a cult. The only therapy I need is for dealing with hypocritical, cosplay-communist moralists like you—who scream ‘workers of the world unite’ until the worker is a woman profiting off her own body instead of breaking her back for a boss. You don’t hate exploitation, you hate when the exploited get paid. You don’t fight capitalism, you fight women who figured out how to win. Your feminism is just rebranded patriarchy, and your anti-capitalism is a joke—because when faced with a woman who actually owns her labor, you become everything you claim to hate: a bootlicking, worker-hating, puritan hand-wringing about ‘degradation’ like a preacher at a 1950s morality hearing. You’re not a radical, you’re just a misogynist in thrift-store Lenin cosplay, shaking with rage that some of us refused to stay poor, powerless, and begging for your approval. Stay mad, stay broke, and stay out of my way.

I got this copy of Alex Star’s Tittybar Tales at the LA Zine Festival. This comic realistically depicts Star’s transition from nerd to stripper in the early 2000s.

I’m writing a short article about Lizzie Borden’s Working Girls (1986) for a zine edited by @dozierayanna in conjunction with a film series on sex work she is hosting in April at the American Film Archives in New York City.

Respectability politics gets us nowhere. We need to stick together and not lean so much into the categories. ‘Oh I provide this, but not that service because I’m better than that’ 🙄🙄 Booooo Solidarity forever!!! ✊

Love is not just romance—it’s presence, connection, and the way you meet the world with an open heart. Where is love moving in you today? For me, it’s moving me to host virtual and in-person events for the SW community. Let’s create something together! Reach out if you’d like to collaborate. xitter.cf/swauthrel/status/18901…
Tossing this out into the universe and seeing what lands… I have a desire to co-create and collaborate! I’d love to join forces with co-facilitators to lead group explorations in personal and relational discovery—playing with the skills we practice in SW Authentic Relating: revealing our experience, sharing impact, owning assumptions, and naming desires. Open to co-facilitating with fellow sex workers or experts in fields that intersect with and impact our work. If this sparks something in you, let’s connect and see what magic we might create together.
