has Hasan interviewed Andre or offered any support or is his whole thing Dem party entryism? Where’s DSA to back an actual socialist? Kinda makes you realize most of that shit is fake.
I’m on the ballot against Ritchie Torres this November.
I’ve spent the past year on the campaign trail across the Bronx, and I haven’t seen him once.
In June, Ritchie Torres won the Democratic primary with just 24,600 votes out of more than 460,000 eligible voters in NY-15.
That means nearly 95% of us didn’t vote for him. Apparently, that’s enough for him to act like the general election is already over.
You’d expect the person who claims to represent us to be registering voters, holding town halls, and making sure every neighbor knows there’s an election coming. Instead, Torres has been silent about the upcoming election.
There’s a reason so many of us in the Bronx have tuned out politics, and it’s not because we don’t care. Ritchie Torres and the Democratic Party have spent years making sure we stay disengaged and disenfranchised.
An engaged Bronx is the last thing they want, because the moment we start paying attention, we start asking whether there’s a better option than decades of Democratic Party neglect and apathy toward our neighborhoods.
It shows. New York’s 15th Congressional District has some of the lowest voter turnout in the country. The general election is two weeks away, and our whole team, from staff to volunteers, is working hard to make sure every one of our Bronx neighbors knows about it.
Both billionaire-backed parties are now more unpopular than ever. Fifty-seven percent of Americans view the Democratic Party unfavorably, and 63% view the Republican Party unfavorably. Clearly, people want a party that actually represents the working class, not billionaires.
In the past few weeks alone, we’ve hit thousands of doors across the district, and we’re just getting started. This week, we’re running more than 20 canvassing shifts, out on the streets from 7 AM to 8 PM, speaking with our neighbors. From Mott Haven to Van Cortlandt Park, we’re building an unstoppable socialist movement that reaches every corner of NY-15.
We’ve learned a lot from doing what the Democratic Party refuses to do: building a movement for free healthcare, clean air, more and better public housing, and fully funded schools. Building a future for the Bronx, not for the billionaires who fund and control our entire political establishment. That work doesn’t end on November 3. This campaign has always been an invitation to join the struggle for a socialist future.
We’ve learned that the natural distrust most Bronx residents have for Democratic Party politicians has been mistaken for conservatism and indifference.
In reality, it points to a much deeper potential: a suppressed yearning for radical, system-wide change. The Bronx is ready for a whole new system: a system where working people control the economy and the government, not the billionaires. A system that actually meets the needs of the people and the planet.
The Bronx is ready for socialism.
cancelled my gym membership and built a home gym two months ago and i’ve never been in better shape. It’s lowkey crazy 😭

WSJ: Democratic Socialists Plan to Push Jeffries to the Left
Hakeem Jeffries is closing in on the Speaker’s gavel, but his path to power runs directly through an expanding group of Democratic Socialists who want major policy concessions in exchange for their support
Emerging from primary victories in heavily Democratic districts, a slate of freshman candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America is organizing behind the scenes to extract commitments from party leadership to advance far-left priorities. With Democrats favored to win a thin House majority in November, an organized faction could hold the balance of power.

Billionaire zionist commissioner Tisch publicly making jokes about calls to fire her and doing so in front of her 'boss' Mamdani is messaging targeted directly at DSA/Palestinians - she is saying go fuck yourselves, you have no power, I am untouchable, I will do whatever I want

Her complicity in genocide is something she will never be able to come back from, and I don’t believe this narrative that she was more compassionate behind the scenes. She had the opportunity to display moral courage publicly and chose not to. That’s really all that matters.
Should Kamala Harris have spoken out on Gaza? “I think how she lost actually mattered,” says Ta-Nehisi Coates.

This isn’t good enough. She spent the entire election defending Israel and saying she would keep sending weapons. Even after she lost, she continued chastising protesters who called her out for her complicity, so I don’t trust anything she has to say now.
Kamala Harris on Israel:
It is in our interest to hold our allies accountable for their share of global defense, to ensure trade benefits American workers and consumers, and to uphold our moral obligation to human rights and international law.
To be sure, America has at times fallen short on that one.
Most recently, the failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government's horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration, which offers Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully.
I would never vote for AOC in a primary and I hope she’s smart and runs for senate. She’s more figurehead than effective and Mamdani is quickly becoming the same.

This Russian data center thing has let people go back to pretending some Russian bot spam is somehow greater foreign interference than Israel essentially owning 90% of Congress

This mamdani saga is exactly how an AOC presidential bid plays out too. Campaigning on a bunch of shit she won’t deliver on, being labeled a communist despite being a neoliberal, and in all her failures, ultimately undermining what little leftward momentum we might have.

One of the biggest misconceptions in US politics is that liberals are leftists.

This concept of Black women “saving democracy” really needs to die, especially If you’re just going to keep supporting the same Zionist politicians who will end up pushing the same genocidal agenda. I’m tired of hearing this shit.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.
I will not be silenced.
They have something on or planted something on Zohran that they’re using to control him. Tisch still being there is the tell.
betrayals from politicians like Mamdani/AOC are worse because they upend & destroy the coalitions that got them there in the first place.
