To reintroduce some of the Surf Node NFTs we have invalidated, We will be holding a mint of 17 new passes at each bringing supply back to 78.
The mint will take place at 6 pm UTC on July 20.
Each mint will cost 3 SOL.
The mint will be entirely public supply.
We have been running as a validator without revealing so for several weeks. As a show of validator performance, in the last full epoch, we were the 12th-ranked validator out of almost 2,000 in the Solana ecosystem.
Separately, but in the same update, Solana is replacing the UDP protocol with QUIC. This will create a higher demand on validators, which is why we have upgraded our servers.
A high-performing RPC thus needs stake to ensure its transactions are not dropped during times of high network traffic.
What is Stake-Weighted QoS?
Stake-weighted QoS prioritizes transactions by the stake weight of the node delivering them.
Big changes are coming to the Solana network, the main ones being touched on in this thread being stake-weighted QoS (quality of service) and QUIC.
