Ryan, I am so filled with pride to watch you be nominated for a Marconi Award for Supporting Sobriety—a podcast built alongside our dear friend Matt Bair. What you two created together is nothing short of incredible. Win or lose, what you’ve accomplished is truly amazing. I mean... how many people can say they’ve been nominated for a Marconi?!!!! I am so grateful to call you one of my closest friends. You are wildly talented, you’re the best, and I know I’m a better person because of you. Wishing you the absolute best of luck! We love you and I can’t wait to build Matt’s foundation with you! 🖤🎙️ @suretocover @93wibc

If you’ve been tuning into my podcast, following along on social media, you’ve probably noticed the silence over the past few weeks. I didn’t step away because I forgot about the show, and I certainly didn’t step away because I didn’t care. The truth is much simpler, and much heavier: I was in survival mode.  The tail end of August and the entire month of September brought the most emotionally intense, chaotic, and heartbreaking weeks of my life.  When I created Behind The Filter, the mission was to strip away the glossy exterior and have real, vulnerable, unfiltered conversations. We talk about backstories, triumphs, hardships, and the gritty realities of life. To sit behind the microphone and pretend that everything has been fine would betray everything this show stands for.  Over the last six weeks, life has knocked the wind completely out of me. Here is what has really been going on behind the scenes. Read, listen and watch the full episode here: johnettecruz.com/post/surviv…

Happy Birthday to my fellow Libra @jasonalanhammer 🎉🎉🎉 @hammerandnigel @93wibc

At Matt Bair’s memorial last night, Ryan Hendrick (@suretocover) and I announced the launch of the Matt Bair Foundation. The best way I can describe this moment is that God called, I listened, and Ryan jumped in with both feet. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor our friend and preserve his legacy than by extending his deep love for others. The foundation exists to provide vital help and resources for those seeking treatment for substance abuse. We will be launching our website soon, along with announcing our very first community partner who shares our vision. If you have questions or would like to get involved, please reach out to me at [email protected] @93wibc @hammerandnigel @naptownbri @tonykatz @TheTonus
