🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer has announced reforms to the planning rules to allow for mini nuclear power stations to be built in the UK for the first time ever, including:
- Allowing nuclear sites anywhere in England and Wales - not just the 8 sites
- Removing expiry dates on nuclear planning rules for long-term projects
- Creating a Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce to speed up the approval of new reactor designs
The last time a nuclear power station was built in the UK was in 1995

Did you know Earlestown is the oldest railway station still in operation anywhere in the world? 🚂
@MetroMayorSteve recently visited the station with leader of @sthelenscouncil Cllr Anthony Burns to see how millions of pounds of new investment will transform the facilities there - including the delivery of new lifts funded by the CA via the Access for All scheme.

Relocating to the new SRFI on Parkside in Newton-le-Willows will help to take thousands of HGVs out of the mix around the M6 corridor, it’ll free up capacity on the surrounding network in Manchester & will also spur on the continued redevelopment of Salford Quays & Old Trafford!

Wes Streeting, "My general experience of politics, and I say this about people in the commons over the last decade, most people, whatever their party, have tended to be good people with honourable intentions'

"But we have seem to forgotten about respecting your opponents.. They're opponents, not enemies"

I’d like to see a Venn diagram of the people demanding we ignore the last General Election, and the people who exploded at the suggestion of a second Brexit referendum.
I predict it’s just a circle.

Boris Johnson had four ministers resign in his first six months.
Liz Truss lost three, including chancellor and Home Secretary, in six weeks.
Rishi Sunak lost four in his first seven months, including his party chairman and deputy PM.
None of this statement is new and every part of it has been published extensively previously.
The truth is never as fun as a conspiracy theory, and elected Councillors, particularly in Rainhill, who have horrific attendance should be ashamed they tried to imply otherwise.
St Helens Borough Council has issued a statement surrounding its work in supporting victims of child sexual abuse.

Incompetent opposition bumbling through the process they obviously can’t be arsed to understand is dangerous to democracy at every level. And they don’t have the self awareness to see how bad they are.

Actually; most people knew. Other than the racists who used it to peddle their agenda.
