Not many people know this, but the 1954 white/gold Fender Stratocaster Serial No. 0001 was originally owned by Phil Taylor, and he sold it to David Gilmour. It was during David's solo sessions that Phil let me play it. @_DavidGilmour
Phil was a powerful personality (and still is) keeping everyone at Super Bear on their toes during the recording of RICHARD WRIGHT'S solo album "Wet Dream", DAVID'S first solo album "David Gilmour", and of course, PINK FLOYD'S "The Wall". @_DavidGilmour
Phil Taylor and I hadn't spoken in 40 years so it was great to catch up a little. He was telling me how strange it was to see all the guitars exhibited, many of which have lived in his house, and now not be allowed to touch them! @_DavidGilmour
Phil Taylor was talking with ace producer Chris Thomas, who I also knew from ELTON JOHN'S album "The Fox" which, coincidentally, was recorded right after THE WALL sessions. @_DavidGilmour
I went to DAVID GILMOUR'S charity auction preview at Christie's today. Met up with Phil Taylor, David's personal guitar tech and responsible for all of Pink Floyd's equipment - both on tour and in the studio since 1974. @_DavidGilmour
