What luck - a newly refurbished Railjet set for the ride to Villach!
Here's the fresh look of First Class, in a similar style to the new-build Railjet 2 sets, despite a few differences. Not bad! 😁
A pair of Taurus locomotives this evening on the ÖBB InterCity over to Velden am Wörthersee.
I get a private four seat Business Class compartment for this 11 minute journey - not bad really! 😅
Heading through to Villach now, on the MICOTRA service through the alps!
This smart looking high-speed locomotive is registered to a company known as "I-FUC". 🥴
NEW VIDEO! Trying Northern Europe's FASTEST commuter train, Sweden's 200km/h X80 made in China! Join me on Västtrafik for a fast trip out of Gothenburg to see if this controversial new fleet deserves the hype!

Another one of these horrible Hitachi units for me, this time over to Udine, on a Trenitalia 6 car variant. Sadly it has a similar poorly thought out interior! 😭
After enduring a horrible regional train yesterday, today I decided to take the EuroCity Pendolino to Venice.
No problems with sloppy design or window views here! 😁🇮🇹
Talgo says that Poland is an important market for them. I say that bogies are an important component of high-speed trains.
We are not the same.

A train for people who hate to look outside! 👀
Almost every bay is misaligned with the windows, and even some of the seats that DO feature a window will have you staring at a divider..
One of the ugliest trains in the world?
This afternoon, I'm catching a Trenord ETR.421 unit out of Milan - with a garish colour scheme and a bizarre shape! What were they thinking? 😂
With one loco taken off at the border and two more added, we're running through to Milan, pulled by these Arenaways locomotives.
Final arrival is 68 minutes late. Not as bad as I was expecting!
One of the classic seated carriages on the European Sleeper to Milan. This is an old German InterRegio carriage, with what looks like its original interior, and NS signage! 👀
And good morning from Switzerland on the @EuropeanSlpr.
We're now running "only" around 1 hour late, and there's an incredible sunrise over the Alps to enjoy from my opening windows.... 😍
Heading through Liege and Köln before heading south on this severely delayed train...
And another problem, my compartment doesn't have a working lock. So much for on-board safety! 🙄
At last, the European Sleeper arrives from the sidings, some two hours after it should have departed. It's a Comfort Standard room for me tonight, a Couchette room with an added thick mattress.
But we're not going to be leaving yet, as there are MORE delays ahead... 😭
Standing in Brussels-South, awaiting the exciting @EuropeanSlpr service to Milan!
However, as is very often the case, both of their departures from here are severely delayed this evening... 🙄
Antwerpen-Centraal has platforms on three different levels, the upper and middle being terminus platforms, while high-speed trains run through the lower level. 🇧🇪
Finally got to visit the famous Antwerpen-Centraal, one of the most beautiful train stations anywhere in the world - just look at this beauty! 😍
Today's task involved riding a bunch of locomotives around Belgium. Never really spent much time here before, so it's nice to have a proper explore! 😁
Decided to pay a visit to Brussels-Chapel station today, that, despite its location right in the centre of the city, is only served by one train per hour! 👀 🇧🇪
The state of the @Eurostar (Thalys) trains these days, with leaky, falling-apart toilets, overflowing bins, and just general filth - this is a lousy excuse for a premium train. 🤮
Hopefully, I won't travel with Thalys trains again for many more years...
