Over 14k renter households in Sunset Park, Red Hook & Bay Ridge are unregulated & have no protections against unreasonable rent hikes or evictions.
Today over 65 people joined our Housing Townhall to learn about the protections Good Cause will provide if passed. We must act now.
Time to support #GoodCause! Tenants canโt wait. Pass it this session!
Tenants stopped by the address @stefanizinerman is registered to vote at to demand the #Right2Remain, but apparently she doesn't live there??๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ง
Then we got on the bus to her speaking event where they called the cops on us :/ Why is she hiding from tenants?? #GoodCause NOW!!

Thinking about how itโs Motherโs Day, and this is how our city treats so many working class immigrant women of color.
Harassing people trying to make a living doesnโt make us any safer.
Buy your flowers from a street vendor today ๐
An unfriendly reminderโ๏ธthat 1 single, 45 minute CitiBike ride is $4โthatโs 45% more than a @NYCferry or @NYCTSubway ride! And there is no monthly/30-day option. You are billed $185 upfront before taxes. Bikeshare needs to be much more affordable, @NYCMayor @NYC_DOT @NYCCouncilโ๏ธ
Waited for four buses on Church Avenue and @NYCTBus took them all out of service, stranding commuters.
The 4 train saved the day for me at Atlantic Avenue, @MTA!
Good morning @GovKathyHochul @CarlHeastie @AndreaSCousins the @MTA needs to resolve these incidents more quickly in general so millions of commuters can get to work. One train snag shouldnโt cause so much mayhem and delay citywide.
Time to fight for tenants to stay New Yorkers, @GovKathyHochul @CarlHeastie @AndreaSCousins! Pass Good Cause housing legislation now. We need Sunsetโs next state Senator, @agounardes, to get on board for tenants. Sunset Parkers want to stay in their homes! @sbkDSA @housing4allNY
๐Do you want to stay in Sunset? Are you disgusted by rent prices? We need @GovKathyHochul @CarlHeastie @AndreaSCousins to pass Good Cause housing legislation now! โ๏ธ We need Sunset Parkโs next State Senator @agounardes to care about tenants, and back this bill now! ๐
Sick ๐คฎ of sky-high rent prices? $2000+ for studio apts in working-class neighborhoods? Join our rally for Good Cause Albany bill via @housing4allNY, @nycdsa_housing and @metcouncil at Bowling Green, Thursday, 5 PM. It would limit rent hikes to inflation rate & let tenants renew.

Before you dish that hot take, read it aloud and consider whether youโd be comfortable if the victims and their loved ones were in the room. Itโs okay to not speak.

Came back from D.C. this afternoon and took the Q train home from Penn Station. Saw this dad reading to his son and itโs just a reminder of the little things that make life โ and this city โ so precious.

A peak New York moment on @NY1: Zack Tahhan, who spotted the alleged subway shooter, grabs our mic and begins interviewing other witnesses.
So much great energy ๐ and momentum ๐ป for @Britt4Congress in southern Brooklyn, with powerful endorsements from socialist ๐นfeminists like @marcelaforny, @alexaforcouncil, and @ShahanaFromBK.
