imagine you’re just trying to get your first sip of the daily coffee in & this big fella nerv hits you with a 9.9 magnitude quake alert
Wtf just happened We had an early alert system for a magnitude 9.9 earthquake (which would the strongest earthquake ever recorded) only for no shaking to happen and they just withdrew the alert

so this is it for cursor then, sad hope they still keep their code editor software alive though I really love their markdown renderer
Cursor is now part of The X Subscription. Current Cursor subscribers can keep their plan or switch to The X Subscription. Paid plans share one usage pool across Cursor, Grok Build, and other Grok products, with twice the coding usage on Grok models as the equivalent Cursor plan. Premium, Super, and Ultra also include Grok Bot. To make room for more Grok usage, third-party models in Cursor move to API pricing on the new plans. We'll keep working to make your usage go further, with more compute, better inference, and more token-efficient models. The X Subscription is available at cursor.com/pricing.

my exact words every time my brain defaults back to the sequential way of visualizing matmul that my brain's been used to since high school when I'm studying kernels
there is so much to unlearn

ch03 had taken me like forever to complete so I felt pleasantly surprised to be able to complete ch04 pretty quickly by my standards (although the lack of multiple exercises demanding I wrote kernels helped) ch05's got tiled matmul - this will be a lot of fun
been forever, but I shall do this

I’ve always thought that when I decide to have a child, I’d like a daughter. And to my daughter, I’d tell the story of Margaret Hamilton I’ve been obsessed with rocket science & space since childhood, and she’s been one of my biggest inspirations. Rest in peace, Great One
We’ve lost an icon. Margaret Hamilton, a computer science pioneer best known for her work at MIT leading development of the flight software for the Apollo missions to the moon, has died at 90. Read about her legacy via MIT News: news.mit.edu/2026/margaret-h…

I must say letting agents mimick the Modal gpu glossary styling to build html artifacts has worked very well for my unimaginative brain

the cure to a lot of my issues has been sleeping enough & being closer to nature I find it fascinating that the absence of complication in these fixes has, for me, been pretty hard to come to terms with (still on my way there)

"sleep early, wake up early" "eat healthy" "go out talk to people more see nature more" maybe it's the simplicity in these that I tend to find interesting but also a little annoying uncomplicated things + actions can work wonders on me and that's ok (but sometimes annoyingly so)

gosh this past weekend was just as difficult, it’s been so bloody hard to concentrate cutting away a lot of activities this week for brute focus + healthy eating & sleeping habits let’s see how I fare
it’s been hard to concentrate the last 2 months. I get tired a lot - as if my brain has turned into mush. maybe it’s the new job I started picking up healthier habits, was able to focus pretty ok today. hoping I can build momentum from here as I really need to get back to speed

what a fine morning to sip my cup of coffee, try to build a tokenizer, and cope against regex & multiprocessing as yet another supposedly crazy shitstorm has hit the microcosm
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

I wonder how someone who’s meant to understand technical stuff does not know how to navigate within a dir or read a json

codex cli not being able to render math equations has affected me a lot my brain finds joy in switching back & forth within tmux (codex cli fits like a glove) + I ssh into my tmux sessions regularly too, now I'm being forced to use the codex app just to see the math rendering
