Twitter (or X, or whatever) seems to have killed Tweetdeck, unless you want to put money directly in a white supremacist's pocket. So I'm out. Hopefully there's a #TCMParty on 🧵s one day soon.

Negotiating is nuanced and therefore difficult to film, but Double Indemnity nails it. Keyes can dominate Gorlopis whereas Norton embarrasses himself with Phyllis because Norton hasn't done the work and his theory stinks. It has nothing to do with a silver tongue. #TCMParty

I wrote about Sinéad O'Connor a few times, including after this incredible performance in New York in 2014. newyorker.com/culture/cultur…

That sounds you hear is Aaron Sorkin calling his agent.
Others have pointed this out, but this renaming is stepping on the exact same rake that got him ousted by PayPal. Wrote about this in my book

"One thing that dismayed me about the panic attack was its accuracy: my life really did need a major course correction, which I had no idea how to effect." Damn that's heavy newyorker.com/culture/annals…

"Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" That's the actual title. "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" They called it that. The movie cost $300 million and when it came time to think of the name they settled on "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One"

#GlassOnion ***SPOILERS*** The dings signaling the Google Alerts about Andi are superimposed with inadvertently insightful dialogue about her.

Glass Onion's Bron and The Departed's Sullivan are similar in very surprising ways. Both are constantly overestimated, in no small part due to white-male-privilege.

Repeatedly, Bron tries to steal other people's ideas and fails. But when one steal attempt - Blanc's idea for real murder - fails, Blanc parries it by stealing Bron's idea for fake murder. The gang was ultimately gathered to solve a fake murder of someone being shot in the chest.

Neither the WGA or SAG-AFTRA is calling for a consumer boycott right now. If you want to support the strike, we're asking folks to: 1) Boost our message on social media 2) Donate to the Entertainment Community Fund, which supports affected workers secure2.convio.net/afa/site/…
Replying to @adamconover
@adamconover genuine question: I'm having a hard time morally resolving whether I should skip seeing Barbie and Oppenheimer this week re: SAG/AFTRA solidarity. Thoughts?

TIFF is my favourite week of the year, but if the strikes disrupt it, so be it. Union strong. 💪💪💪 #TIFF23 #SAGAFTRA

"I often pause the film when I’m watching it just so I can look at it as if it were a painting in a museum." More people would do this, if pausing technology had always kept then picture pristine, as it now does. But we learned differently. Give it a shot, it's amazing.

Perilous, sure, but when your dick is so small that the only alternative is paying $44B for a website that isn't worth half that, and that you have no earthly idea how to run, just give the surgery a shot, honestly,
