Jason Arday is dead at 41 after weeks of brutal, relentless public scrutiny and years of abuse. In the days leading up to his death, 249 articles were written about Arday. These reached way beyond what could be reasonably considered in the public interest. Whatever anyone thinks about the allegations against him, there now has to be a serious, independent examination of how this was handled, by institutions and by the media. Accountability cannot mean turning a human being into public sport. I have signed a letter to the Independent Press Standards Organisation, calling for an investigation into the accusations against Professor Arday in the period leading up to his death, and to establish whether the media response was proportionate to the accusations levelled against him.

We - the British media - bear a collective guilt in Jason Arday’s death. Because we - the British media - played a collective role. I found this apology from Steven Methven sincere & moving. There are lessons we all need to learn from this tragedy.

Sonic Pi v5 now opens up with a new Quickstart Card system. This gets people up and running much faster and more joyfully than a long wordy tutorial. You can play the cards directly or drag them into the editor to use the snippet in your own composition.

Axe, Axe, Exe, Esk, Esk, Esk, North Esk, South Esk, Usk, Ouse, Ouse, Great Ouse, Stour, Stour, Taf, Taff, Tay, Taw, Teign, Tyne, Tyne, Blyth, Blyth, Avon, Avon, Avon, Fleet, Fleet, Dee, Dee, Eden, Eden to name just a few repetitions in British river-names.
A very simplified map of the main river catchment areas of Great Britain. It's extraordinary that rivers and streams as far south as Wolverhampton and even Solihull beyond Birmingham to as far north as the River Wiske just south of Darlington all ultimately feed the River Humber.

@Tudortweet ! Aha! Addictive leaps! This is the difference between a Knights Move and Lateral Thinking!

Wow @pinccollege is in the news! What a wonderful bi product of learning…we help to keep heritage building open, or bring them back to life!
Crucially, the ‘Kaleidoscope: A year in motion’ exhibition at One Bethesda is an opportunity for @pinccollege neurodiverse students to elevate the importance of their project work, created in response to live briefs, in a public space where the quality and authenticity of the art speaks for itself.

@Tudortweet I was thinking about Knights Move in the context of creative teams handbook in Dawn Gibbins woodland site. Based on metaphor The move inherits from both chess and battle . A stereotypical knight is well resourced on the battle field but also has diplomatic roles

Though Larkaff and Johnson, Knights Move is richer conceptual metaphor. As a creative technique it’s more generative and less iterative.

This is the Readymoney Drinking Fountain in Regents park, a stunning neo gothic stone public utility from 1869. My dream is to be able to design a contemporary version of this where a quotidian public service becomes a moment of beautifully civic, aesthetic delight…
