🇨🇦🥇 15 YEARS AGO TODAY!
A group of Canadian ballplayers made history, becoming the first Canadian baseball team to capture gold at the Pan American Games with a thrilling 2-1 victory over the United States in Mexico!
North Battleford, Saskatchewan's Andrew Albers tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball, while Richmond, BC's Jimmy VanOstrand delivered a clutch two-out double in the sixth inning to give Canada a 2-1 lead they would never relinquish!
North Vancouver, BC's Scott Richmond slammed the door with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save and secure Canada's historic gold medal!
Got to stop and take a pic with the Larry Walker Statue just unveiled in Colorado! Well deserved! #33

OH Canada!
#OTD 27 years ago, trailing the U.S. 6-3 in the 11th in a preliminary round contest at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, 🇨🇦 catcher Andy Stewart belted a two-out, three-run HR to tie the game.
Three batters later, @stubbyclapp singled to left field to give Canada a walk-off win.

In honour of the great Duane Ward, today's #FridayFeature is his jersey, glove, and a record-setting baseball, all of which are part of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum collection.
Ward wore this road jersey in 1995, his final season in Major League baseball, and the last of 9 as a Blue Jay.
Duane Ward used this glove from 1989 until he retired in 1995 as one of the top closers in baseball.
This ball was pitched by Duane Ward in 1993 when he recorded his 45th save, a single-season Blue Jays franchise record which still stands!
Each of these items was donated by Ward to the Museum collection when he was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022. The ball and glove are both on display this summer.
Rest in peace, Duane, you will be dearly missed. @BlueJays

Not enough words in the dictionary to describe this guy. Absolute competitor.
2X All-Conference selection who in 2 years in the rotation allowed just 28 BB’s in 127 IP. Fills it up and will go toe-to-toe with anyone. You want the rock in his hands when it matters most!

Gutsy performance from Topher McDaniel (@PJCBaseball). 8 innings of 2 run ball against a really tough Blinn lineup. FB sat 88-90. Went to the cutter a lot at 82-84 and showed feel for CH at 84-85. Certified strike thrower, creating a bunch of short ABs.

MIF that played 3B as a necessity this spring. Can absolutely pick it. Has great hands and feet, arm plays on the left side. Made a mid-season offensive adjustment and took off offensively down the stretch. In the back half of the season he hit over .300 with a .480 OBP, 3 2B, 2 3B and a 2:1 BB:K!
