Following derogatory remarks about C1 Women made this week, I have reflected on how C1W has shaped me. I wrote a letter to @Mall_Franklin ; a teammate and pioneer of C1W. Our debut in Tokyo is an emphatic moment and I want to share what it means to me 馃挏馃憞 eilidhgibson.com/c1women

BEST PRESENT EVER! 馃挌 We did early Christmas & Mum bought us 10 trees each! Yesterday our family planted 60 trees 馃槺 Each year we'll add to our wood as we try to reduce our impact on the planet. Why don't you do the same? Visit @WoodlandTrust or Mail Order Trees馃巹 #MerryChristmas

2019 delivering once again... (minor) knee surgery for torn cartilage which was causing my knee to lock and get stuck. Surely 2020 will bring some better luck? Grateful for everyone and all the love around me 鉂わ笍

Today, it is with excitement that I announce I am retiring from being a full time athlete, to move onto other challenges. The last 15 years are filled with so many happy memories. Huge big love and appreciation to everyone who's made my time in the sport unforgettable.

This Christmas my family are wrapping each others' presents in our family pillow cases or the excess paper that comes in @amazon packages to cut down on our waste 馃巵 it was super easy, free and very pretty - every act helps #TellAFriend #ActOnClimate #MerryChristmas
