HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE AN EPAPHRAS 1. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DO NOT KNOW: You are sensitive to spiritual stimuli and possess spiritual capacities that they do not possess. You can perceive things that others cannot see. You can discern what others have failed to recognise. While others see weakness and inadequacy, you see the potential for transformation. You do not define people by their weaknesses or limitations. Instead, you recognise that something good can still come out of them. You see beyond their present condition because you understand what God can accomplish through their lives. 2. YOU THINK ABOUT EVERYONE CONNECTED TO YOU: You are the one who discerns the patterns. You understand the seriousness of your assignment. There are certain things that people may never know unless you speak. There are spiritual realities they may never understand unless you bring them to light. They do not understand that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Do not arrive at your place of assignment and forget why God sent you there. You were not sent to become like them. You were sent to make a difference among them. You may be sent to a particular unit in the church. You may be one of them, but you were not sent there merely to conform to their ways. You were sent to ensure that everyone in that unit stands perfect and complete in the will of God. Your assignment is not merely to belong; it is to help others fulfil God's purpose for their lives. 3. EPAPHRAS HAS AN URGENCY MINDSET IN DESTINY: An emergency call to all EPAPHRAS! You are too empowered to remain silent! You have an assignment to fulfil! Do not allow the devil to have the final say over the lives of those connected to you. There is a light that God has commissioned you to bring to your generation. You cannot afford to treat your assignment casually. There is too much at stake, and there are lives connected to your obedience. The Greek word Agōnizomai is a biblical word that means to labour fervently, contend, battle, and fight. Epaphras is one who engages in fervent spiritual warfare on behalf of the people connected to him. The letter that was written was not addressed to people who did not know God; it was written to the Colossian church, to people who knew God.
