Because “food insecure” just means you don’t know what or when you’re having the next meal. Not that you’re not sure IF you’re eating a next meal.
I hope so.

America has a gun
With (very few) apologies to Brian Bilston
England is CCTV.
France, a cop with lock and key.
Greece, once free, now bends the knee.
But, America has a gun.
Sweden jails the ones who fight.
Germany fines bad words at night.
Spain forbids the wrong to write.
But, America has a gun.
Holland fines what words you say.
Canada takes your knives away.
Australia says, "you must Obey."
While America has a gun.
Japan will bow and not resist.
Scotland bans what they won’t miss.
Freedom bleeds, but still exists
Because America has a gun.
Better risk the fatal cost
Than find that liberty was lost.
The price is high,
The fight, embossed
Because America has a gun.

Even if Elon’s playing the political game with the timing of the release, I can’t blame him since politicians that dislike him want to get in his (and others) way of making progress, taking away his wealth (basically his companies, he doesn’t have the money in his wallet)
F those politicians, they are the problem.

Elon dropping the Roadster demo right before midterms is perfect because it serves as the ultimate reminder that:
- America is still the most technologically advanced country in the world;
- despite our myriad problems, the future is still insanely bright; and
- you can have regressive, European-style socialism that embraces decline or you can have flying fucking cars, but you can’t have both.

Yes.
That’s how *all* innovation works; copy, modify, replace.
Switches and computers existed before the transistor, after all, and yet it was an innovation that made modern computers possible.

Rent laws prevent maintenance from occurring, as it prevents competition.
You don’t have to believe me, just watch NYC rents continue to climb, quality get worse, and there are fewer nice places to rent.
😂 it would do no such thing. Adding an extra pickup would far outweigh any minor benefit.
All 11 bins probably end up mostly in the trash anyway.

What’s terrifying about this clip isn’t their ideals…these sweet gals’ hearts are certainly in the right place. What’s terrifying is they have the civic, political, and economic literacy of a 9 year old. When a charlatan like Abdul comes along with the Jr High class president schtick of “no more homework and the vending machines are all free!”, they fall for it.
I don’t know how you get to that age with ZERO understanding of supply chains, manufacturing, labor costs…but a lot of folks think that medicine and MRIs and hospitals just materialize out of thin air like unicorn farts. They’ve never built anything in their lives, so they have no concept of how things function…things are just…there. They think milk comes from the store. They think rich people don’t pay taxes, even though the top 1% fund 40% of government with their taxes already, and yet 40% of all Americans contribute ZERO federal income tax at all. These people don’t understand that you could tax the wealthy at 100% and it would only fund the government for 120 days. Then you’re screwed.
Too many Americans simply have zero understanding of how anything works, and even though they’re living in the easiest times in human history, they think things are “terrible out there”. These commie scammers roll through and promise them things that sound great, but aren’t possible in reality, and have devastating consequences if tried…but because they don’t know anything, they fall for it. Sadly, so many of our politicians and their advisors are such atrocious communicators, there’s like zero countervailing narrative to push back on the commie gobbledygook, so we are gonna have to learn the hard way. Guys…we just had a sample of socialism: Covid. We all got universal basic income, and it ended up tripling our costs and they’ll never go down. Ever. That one brief little experiment in command and control government will haunt us the rest of our lives. Bleak stuff, man.

The lady committed fraud in broad daylight using Lam’s Seafood. She admitted to the fraud. Case closed.
Mainstream media is an enemy the people and will run cover for fraudsters but never for the people who follow the law.
I mean a large fraction of NYC is employed or taking from taxpayers in some way (housing assistance, rent freezing, etc), so yeah, one becomes economically illiterate when one has been shielded from it. That won’t last though.
I hope the Feds don’t bail out NYC like they did in the 70s.

Actually this could be huge. I would like to get the state out of healthcare, but given that it is so ensnared by government at all levels anyway the least it can do is enforce transparency
Public sector unions should be abolished just because of this conflict of interest
$2.5m is a lot of dues. Where do the dues come from? Wages the state pays its Medicaid home care workers. Where do the dues go? A campaign to keep the state's money coming in. The SEIU 775 flywheel, still spinning.
