Today, I’m thinking about Christina-Taylor Green on what would be her 25th birthday.
She should still be here, celebrating her day with family and friends, but she was shot and killed 15 years ago while waiting to meet me.
At just nine years old, Christina-Taylor had big dreams to make the world a better place—and as a member of her student council, the only girl on her baseball team, and beloved daughter and friend, she was well on her way. Her life and her future should never have been stolen from her.
I carry her memory with me always as I work to build the safer future she deserved.

25 years ago today, on September 11, 2001, at 9:45 am, the FAA closed U.S. airspace. It was the first unplanned closure of U.S. airspace in history. In just a matter of hours, all commercial air traffic was grounded. #September11

Dolly Parton carried the music, stories and spirit of her Tennessee mountain home wherever she went. She was a lifelong champion of the Great Smoky Mountains and proudly shared her love for them with the world.
While we may no longer see her working 9 to 5, we will always love her.
Here’s to Dolly, who made our world a little more beautiful.

So the other day when I was flying to New York, this woman just got up out of her seat and moved to 1st class.
She was blond and beautiful.
The flight attendant told her she had to go back to her seat because she didn't have a 1st class ticket to New York. She told the flight attendant she was blond and beautiful and wasn't budging until they got to New York.
I was thinking, oh great, we are definitely going to take off late.
After 2 attempts, the flight attendant grabbed the co-captain and explained the situation.
The co-captain went to the blond and told her sternly that she had to move back to coach. The woman did not budge and repeated that she was blond and beautiful and wasn't moving until they got to New York.
So then the co-captain gets the captain and tells him about what is happening and suggests he get the police.
I am sitting there watching this whole scene play out SMH.
The captain said, "Let me see if I can convince her."
He walks back and whispers in the blonds ear.
Seriously.
All of the sudden, the blond gets up and walks to back to her seat in coach.
I was relieved but surprised.
Then the co-captain asked, "What did you tell her?
The captain responded, "I told her 1st Class wasn't going to New York, only coach."
;)
Always good to start the day with a laugh.
No disrespect to blonds intended.
Good morning, True Crimers.

“No one is too far gone. Not you. Not us. Not this nation.”
On the Washington Mall, at Rededicate 250, we lifted our voices and called America back to the God who has never stopped loving her.
The old hymn says it best, Hallelujah, thine the glory… revive us again.
Friend, that’s not just a song. That’s a prayer. And today, we’re asking you to pray it, over your own heart, your family, and this nation we love.
Share this with someone who needs hope. Then get on your knees. Revival doesn’t start in Washington. It starts with us.

I was honored to lead a prayer of rededication at today’s @Freedom250 Rededicate250 event on the National Mall.
Just as 56 brave men dedicated this land in the Lord’s name at our nation’s founding, we rededicate the United States as “One Nation Under God” as we mark 250 years of American independence. 🇺🇸🙏🏼
