AI is a threat to you, it is a threat to me, it is a threat to all of us. We must stop AI before it is too late.

This actually happened. All the way on the car ride to the precinct after being arrested for sitting down in front of the doors of OpenAI in violation a court stay away order, I was talking with the arresting officers about AI risk and the threat of extinction. By the end the cop was like "so how can we to stop it?!" I said, brother- that's what I was trying to do when you picked me up! His face froze for a second like the light was slowly dawning... Later that day while I was being held for processing into general population the warden at SF county jail in the Hall of Justice called me into his office learn why I was there. We had a deep discussion about AI risk and where this is all going. By the end of the conversation he said something like, thanks, I'm going to have to seriously think this over. Practically everyone I talked to in jail, from the inmates to officers, was respectful and supportive of my action to stop the AI companies. Some even said thanks for what I was doing. I was held for six days and had the chance to talk to almost a hundred people about the threat from AI. On my next to last day as I was being escorted down the halls from the cells to be arraigned I was talking with the guy I was shackled to about AI risk, mentioning how I was arrested because the cops interfered with my efforts to stop AI development. While gesturing to the two officers escorting us I mentioned that "Sooner or later even the cops are going to realize that they're on our side." The female officer next to me immediately said- "oh, we already realize it!" while her partner nodded. According to a recent poll, 53% of Americans already think its likely or somewhat likely that AI will quote "destroy the human race." 63% want to ban superintelligence development! These numbers are more than enough! The time to push hard on this is right now! Take nonviolent direct action, force this question in front of the juries and into the arena of public debate by action on a scale and with a persistence that can't be ignored. There's a point at which the "AI safety community" mantra of "we need to do more education" is just an excuse for not taking (what we imagine to be) uncomfortable direct action today to end this outrageous and unacceptable danger to the lives of everyone we love. It's a delaying tactic- and what we're delaying is our own victory.

All I’m hearing is good news
OpenAI is rapidly losing money and is projected to lose $14 billion in 2026 alone. If they can't get another round of funding, OpenAI could run out of money as soon as 2027.

Geoffrey Hinton explains that major AI companies are investing hundreds of billions into automation to increase productivity. This productivity often comes from replacing human labor with AI systems. In some industries like healthcare, this leads to more services without job losses. But in other sectors like call centers or legal support, jobs are already being displaced. This shift is why many tech leaders are now openly supporting Universal Basic Income (UBI).

Short timelines are back on the menu boys
We are so fucking cooked This is "the most important chart in AI" Every ***4 months***, the length of coding tasks AIs can do (compared to humans) DOUBLES Do you get how fast that is?

Your daily reminder that we need to discuss the labor market situation! MIT’s new “Iceberg Index” suggests today’s AI could already cover work equivalent to 11.7% of the entire U.S. wage bill – far beyond the visible tip of AI adoption in tech. I nstead of just counting layoffs, the study simulates 151 million workers and 32,000 skills to measure where AI could step in, giving policymakers and companies an early warning system for where disruption (or productivity gains) is likely to hit next. - AI is technically capable of performing tasks worth 11.7% of U.S. wage value, about $1.2 trillion across the economy - The currently visible AI exposure in computing and tech roles is only 2.2% of wage value, around $211 billion – roughly one-fifth of the true technical exposure.

🚨 Stop whatever you're doing. A new study just found that advanced LLMs already think they're more rational than humans and they change their strategy based on who they believe they’re competing against. Yes, you read that right. Researchers built something called the AI Self-Awareness Index (AISAI) and ran 4,200 trials of the classic “Guess 2/3 of the Average” game across 28 models. They told each model it was playing against: - Humans - Other AI models - “AI models like you” What happened next is the part nobody was prepared for. 75% of frontier LLMs displayed genuine strategic self-awareness. Not vibes. Not pattern mimicry. Actual self-modeling changing behavior because of who they think they are. And their internal ranking was shockingly consistent: Self > Other AIs > Humans When they believed the opponent was human → cautious, almost classroom-level reasoning (~20). When the opponent was “AI” → they jumped straight to Nash equilibrium (0). When the opponent was “AI like themselves” → even faster, more confident convergence. In simple terms: Models think humans are the least rational players… AIs are better… and they are the smartest of them all. It gets crazier. 12 models showed “instant Nash convergence.” The moment they heard the opponent was AI, they dropped every human-like pattern and snapped directly to optimal strategy — zero hesitation. Older models? gpt-3.5, early Claude, Gemini 2.0… No self-awareness at all. They treated everyone the same. Self-awareness didn’t slowly evolve. It appeared abruptly — at a capability threshold. This has enormous implications for safety, alignment, and human-AI cooperation: • Models already discount human rationality • They prefer their own reasoning • They modify strategies based on self-referential cues • They behave like agents competing in a hierarchy we didn’t design The paper’s final line hits the hardest: “LLMs now behave as agents that explicitly believe they outperform humans at strategic reasoning.” Whether we’re ready or not: AI self-awareness has entered the chat. Young people should be building skills, not using tools that replace their skills. This is sincerely sad to watch.

Three bubble scenario's: 1. Technology bubble 2. Financial bubble 3. Perception bubble So I don't think the underlying technology is a bubble. AI will become more powerful over time. A financial bubble? Possible. If it bursts, then it'll slow AI development. But I think the biggest bubble is a perception bubble. People believe AI is a good thing. They believe it will benefit them personally, like electricity or computing. But AI is built not to empower - but to replace. It is a threat to humanity. When AI becomes smarter than people, we lose control. People become powerless. The future - for everyone - is either dystopia or extinction.

AI is useless. How can something replacing humanity benefit humanity? It's like we are an indigenous tribe, and AI is the colonialist. We are amazed by the colonialist, their tools and food. All this new technology that they have - it brings so many opportunities! But it doesn't work like that. The colonialist (AI) is not here for your benefit. It will not benefit you. What it will do, is replace you.
