Wait…Hurts was told by doctors not to sleep for 36 hours but OK to play??? The NFL clearly doesn’t give a single shit about player safety.
Jalen Hurts was told by doctors not to sleep after his initial diagnosis of a superficial blood clot while in London.
Hurts stayed awake for roughly 36 hours before starting against the Jaguars.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Tom Pelissero, the source cited, later clarified after speaking to Jalen Hurts' agent that Hurts was able to sleep after hospital evaluation and felt rested to play.

Watch as contract year backup Tanner McKee plays average in a win or balls out in a loss and observe the media unjustifiably melt into the 7th level of QB controversy hell
Breaking: #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday due to a superficial blood clot.
Full statement from the #Eagles on QB Jalen Hurts:
“On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th. This was his first treatment session for the calf injury following the game, after having practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced in full, and was added to the practice report.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and the return flight to Philadelphia.
“Jalen played without limitation in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and practiced in full on Wednesday, as reflected in the practice report. Throughout our time in London and this week, we have remained in communication with the league office regarding the matter.
"On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”

Remember 15-20+ years ago when Wawa Hoagies were actually legit and could stack up in quality against a lot of sandwich places in the Philly area?
Forget about that, remember profit is king, and enjoy your literal gas station sushi.
Wawa is testing sushi in the Philly suburbs. I drove 23 miles to try it ebx.sh/Fn1Ivp

The fact remains it's yet another postseason where this Phillies lineup just doesn't perform.
Clinch game: 2 runs. Last year in do or die? 1 run. 2024? 1 run. Game 7 vs. Diamondbacks? 2 runs. Game 6? 1 run. Astros WS Game 6? 1 run. Same shit, different year.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible. One of the most intense baseball wins I’ve ever witnessed from this Phillies team.
1 down. 12 to go. Do it. #RingTheBell

Didn’t think the end of this era would be this embarrassing painful, yet here we are.

Kudos to this decrepit Phillies lineup for giving beyond average journeyman Tyler Mahle a glory story where he can one day tell his grandchildren he pitched like freaking Cy Young in a MLB playoff clincher. #SomeThings
