when i was new to deadlock i would call rem the drake bird because he would remind me of the 'drake the type of guy to wear this to bed' meme

For anyone new to Deadlock that cares about "being good", it's super super super super super super important you're spending your first few 100 hours following strong fundamentals/good habits. The reason for this is, in my personal opinion deadlock is one of the hardest games to ever release. Because it's so hard players oftentimes default to systems/habits they have developed in their head through thousands of hours of gameplay. Some things to consider: 1. Basing your decision making around wave states (partial thing that makes deadlock not a hero shooter) 2. Capacity (what is my HP/cool downs/ammo/stamina/souls spent/unspent in this given situation) 3. Comparing capacity (what is my capacity relative to the enemy hero that I'm fighting?) 4. Limit testing with capacity in mind (I am going for this kill, why?) 5. Decision making through the scope of your hero (I am playing billy, how does this influence my decision making?) And my most important note: 6. VOD VOD VOD VOD if you can genuinely make it a daily routine for you to vod, your growth as a player will be exponential, vod yourself AND other good players (deadlock night shift players not your YouTubers pub stomping in oracle) If anyone needs help with deadlock unfortunately I'm too busy to offer charity sessions but I am more than happy to answer any questions via dm (not to my main discord)/comment/etc... it may take me some time to respond There's a lot of good educational resources out there. Some people might think that older videos are "outdated" but genuinely the macro discussed in videos from 2 years ago are still applicable today Here is an image from the Chainsaw Man cafe I went to in Osaka, unprompted but I wanted to put something cool and aesthetic alongside this long post. Idfk Good luck have fun ♥️
