this is hardly a new insight but there is basically zero social penalty for being bigoted against muslims in the united states today
(as a reminder, muhammed remains one of the most common names in the entire world)

Millennials were told by every adult that we HAD to go to college or we’d be poor. Those same people are confused why we have so much student loan debt.

Terrible AI aside, Nolan Ryan is at best the 4th best pitcher of the 70s behind Tom Seaver, Jim Palmer, and Gaylord Perry. Its is a toss up for 4th between Ryan and Steve Carlton. That's kind of Ryan's thing, that he was never the best, but a great pitcher for a really long time.

The “mass shooting” in Erie, PA was in fact a family annihilation event. A 45-year-old man with a registered firearm killed a 22-mo-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, 2 women, & 5 men.
He killed himself.
We still don’t know his name or the names of his victims. No one will ask ‘where was he radicalized?’ Media will move on. A reminder that every 5 days a man annihilates his family in the USA & men kill 2400+ women annually in gender based violence. Beyond horrific. My God.
Not to be dramatic, but I would stop watching MLB if these restrictions are put in place.
MLB is experimenting with mandatory outfielder and infield positioning in the Arizona Fall League, and I hate it. Current shift restrictions are good.
Taking away strategy advantages from smart teams in another desperate attempt to save hitting is crazy. Just leave it as outfielders in the grass, infielders in the dirt with two on each side. That's it.

i have realized in adulthood that many people are unaware that if you encounter some kind of chic crunchy business that is so incredibly niche it is unclear how it makes money, the answer is almost always that it does not. that is a rich person occupying themself with a hobby

Why do sociopathic tech bros see human experiences like art and music as things that need to be solved? Go build apps that aide medical industries or solve real world problems like poverty, homelessness, or hunger. Stop trying to commodify every aspect of being human.
This is so much of what the current promise of AI is.
"What if we automate something that is currently part of someone's job, remove human interaction as a requirement for special accommodations, and replace it with AI that can easily be abused & manipulated?"
Instinct CEO Noah Shinn says agents will let restaurants give tables to birthdays and anniversaries over whoever clicks first
"And traditionally, because of the way that the internet has worked, at least for reservations, it's been first come first serve. So anyone that comes in, no matter how important or how not important it might be, whoever gets in first gets the reservation."
"But what if you had the ability for the agent to be able to communicate on both sides, communicate, hey, this is important. This is actually the person's spouse's birthday, the 30th birthday, a very special event is coming up."
"And the restaurant too can say, let's actually prioritize birthdays or major decade birthdays or major anniversaries or these certain people, I don't know, whatever it might be, right?"
"So now with the ability, with all of the logistical burden of having to describe exactly what your case is and what's happening and why it's important. Now we have the ability to perfectly match what does the restaurant want? What does the user want?"
"And that will result in more special events for the users being able to actually have a spot in the restaurant."
