I am delighted to share that I have been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure! I would like to thank everyone (lab members, students, colleagues, mentors, family, friends) who helped make this happen. I’m grateful to be able to keep doing science for years to come!

I'm excited to share our latest preprint on how kinesin-5's unique tetramerization and tail domains enable it to crosslink and slide microtubules. Congrats to collaborators Jawdat Al-Bassam, Scott Forth, Gary Brouhard, and Steve Rosenfeld, and especially to Malina Iwanski!

The mid-late tenure track space is particularly challenging right now. A big issue is gaining the national recognition and letter writers required for tenure. This last 1.5yrs has shut down many opportunities with only a 1yr extension to make up for it. 1/n
Thrilled that our latest work is now online at @CurrentBiology here: authors.elsevier.com/a/1cueD…
We show that crosslinked microtubule networks subject to motor-driven sliding loads can operate via two distinct mechanical pathways, which could impact mitotic spindle stability.
Very excited to be presenting our lab's work tomorrow at #MotorsInQuarantine and thanks to @AnneStraube for juggling multiple events to make it happen!
Please don't ask why I didn't manage to avoid having to run two meetings at the same time, but here we go. Our 35th #MotorsInQuarantine will be this Wednesday featuring @kdrerup and @stforth talking about microtubule organisation and neuronal transport. mechanochemistry.org/whatson…
