On 19 July 2024, I published two posts on my X account in which I made allegations about Mr Mothin Ali being involved in the Harehills riots. I have accepted these were incorrect and I have jointly made a statement in open Court in order to apologise to Mr Ali and correct the record which is below.

In its fiscal risks report last week there was indeed an OBR footnote page 73 saying the Government had said policy was to raise the State Pension Age to 68 by 2037-39 instead of the currently legislated 2044-46.
The OBR has however, made the same assumption for 8 years since the Cridland Review in 2017.
Essentially successive Govts have had two contradicting policies since then, and got a steer on which to follow, and I think what has happened is this year the OBR attributed that clearly to the Treasury. (Ministers in turn attributed that to the 2017 policy direction of previous Govt)
What has not happened however is any change to legislation, which would have to happen in next year or two to meet recommendation to give anyone affected by change a decade’s notice.
This is in the in-tray for action (or delay?) for the Burnham administration. There is an ongoing review that will report back first, however.
It could affect those born between April 1970 and April 1977.

Physics is often taught in dry equations but Walter Lewin turns it into an edge of your seat thriller.
He proves that the laws of nature are not just suggestions they are absolute. By releasing the ball from exactly 2.5 times the radius of the loop (h = 5/2 R) he demonstrates the perfect balance between gravitational potential energy and the kinetic energy required to maintain centripetal force.
Watch as the math comes to life and the ball defies gravity through pure conservation of mechanical energy. This is what happens when you stop memorizing formulas and start witnessing the universe in motion.

En el año 70 d.C., durante el asalto al Templo de Jerusalén, el lugar más sagrado del mundo antiguo, un centurión llamado Juliano cargó solo contra los defensores judíos. Mató a varios. Persiguió al resto hasta el patio interior.
Entonces resbaló. 🧵

Recorded my first video essay, about fascism. Not as an insult, or hyperbole. But as a clinical diagnosis from some of the world's leading historians, including the scholar who spent 60 years warning people not to use the word carelessly.
