Also departing: my friend Deborah Amos, who sent a note as she closes out 44 years. We sometimes shared the main studio at NPR, and once shared the NPR bureau in Baghdad. Says she has a “satisfying plan B” that’s “all about reporting.” Which she’s done as well as anyone.
