My major "feature" for APEX 26.1 was writing a book to help devs understand + use the full breadth of functionality #orclapex provides. This post gives a short overview of all 25 chapters. Download the PDF version from the APEX books page for offline use. blogs.oracle.com/apex/apex-d…

Was thinking the same thing when writing the APEX Developer’s Companion. Explaining anything helps you also confirm your own understanding. So win for developers, win for agents helping developers, and win for oneself, too.

Claiming that PWAs are not secure because they're not installed from an app store is a false argument.
Native apps need an app store because they download and run executable code (although this does not guarantee the app is safe).
Everything a web app needs to function like an app is already stored in the browser's sandboxed environment before it's "installed" (which is basically just adding an icon to the Home Screen).
If a web app is safe to visit in a browser, it's safe to add it to your Home Screen.

The way Steve taught us to care about every detail, every experience, every person, still guides our work today. Forever grateful.
I recently learned a manual I wrote would be migrated to Markdown for ongoing authoring. Dinkus has made maintaining it a joy. Will answers questions and takes feedback for future feature ideas in Discord. Recommended.
Dinkus Markdown Studio for Mac.
Visually author Markdown with a native app. Images, tables, code blocks, diagrams, equations, and more, displayed in the editor (no preview pane necessary). Raw markdown is a keypress away.
Try typewriter mode and paragraph or sentence focus for a distraction-free writing experience.
No account or subscription. Your data stays local.

Shout out to Matt & Nic @lividvideo support for helping me smoothly migrate 920 videos from another platform to Livid for a non-profit I volunteer with. Rehosted their on-demand video library in short order with the great assistance they gave. Appreciate the help!

Brings back fun memories of Dad taking me in 1977 to the UC Berkeley campus to hear Phil Tippet, Dennis Muren, and others explain how they did the special effects for the then-recently-released Star Wars. Feel lucky to have heard him speak multiple times @viewconference.
Legendary FX animator Phil Tippett is shutting down his studio, which has gone bankrupt 😢
A memorabilia sale is being held this weekend, featuring four decades of production items (Mad God, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, RoboCop, Starship Troopers...).

Quick heads up. If you were hitting this error when importing APEXlang zip files in APEX 26.1, then grab the latest ORDS (26.2.2) version and you'll be all sorted! #orclapex
Got lucky to be in the audience at @annecyfestival to see two episodes of this new @netflix series and hear @rickygervais talk about how it came to be. 1000+ animation fans packing the Grand Salle theater were all in stitches. Can't wait to binge the series.
Ricky Gervais’s new comedy has got legs – and lots of them!
He chats to RT about his love for animals, the inspiration behind his feline characters and venturing into the world of ‘adult animation’.

Don't Plan It, Document It.
I rarely use Plan mode anymore. Instead, before writing the first line of code, I create a file.

New #orclapex 26.1 apps use Text Message-based translations by default, with a simpler dev experience. While not yet automatic, migrating an existing app to the new approach is possible. I explain how with a small sample app you can use to practice on. diveintoapex.com/2026/07/17/…
