Kenya should consider a flat rate of 30% after exempting KSh 32,333 taxable income earners.

This morning, I have written to Bayern Munich asking them to Cancel their planned VISIT TO Raila Odinga Stadium in Kenya until grave human rights concerns surrounding abductions, dissapearances receive meaningful attention.
Say no to Bayern Munich coming to Kenya. ❌🏐
💸Kenya’s public debt stands at KSh 13.57 trillion and is rising by approximately KSh 34,960 every second. What does this mean for the country’s fiscal future?
📊 Track the debt live: kenyadebtcounter.vercel.app/…
What would it cost the government? @OkadiaFiona challenges the KSh 35 billion revenue-loss estimate, arguing that the assumptions behind these figures need closer scrutiny.

Someone tell @AFCAjax and @FCBayern that Kenya is no longer a small colony of the West.
There is no way ordinary Kenyans, taxed to poverty, pay for both the construction of a stadium and for some colonial teams to come and entertain them.
Dear Bayern and Ajax, Kenyans know billions has been wired to your accounts by the government of Kenya just to get this deal.
If you have empathy, cancel the deal, and refund. 790M KES can instead build and equip more than 3 dialyisis centers in Kenya.
Unlike you spoilt capitalist brats who will entertain us for a mere 90 Minutes, those dialysis centers will entertain and take care of Kenya for generations to come.
Stop preying on weak countries like Kenya to fill your pockets.

@OkadiaFiona explains: An extra KSh 2,083 matters more to a low-income earner. But earning KSh 33,000 doesn’t mean your entire salary is taxed at 30%. PAYE applies graduated rates to taxable income after relevant deductions. #PAYExplained

George Carlin said, the problem is nolonger with politicians but with the electorate, especially in Kenya where a neighbor is willing to kill a neighbour for his/her candidate!
Under the proposal, the first KSh 32,333 of taxable income would be taxed at 0%, while personal relief would be removed.
Using a KSh 50,000 gross salary, @OkadiaFiona estimates that monthly take-home pay could rise from KSh 39,029 to KSh 41,112 an increase of about KSh 2,083.

Final results are in. Edwin Sifuna tops with 89.1% of the total, and Ruto comes second with 5.4%.
Our poll had a very large sample of 27,995 votes.
This will go on record, and we'll use it to benchmark all other online polls and investigate online trends over time.
