At a recent "casual" playtest of one of my games: Post-game discussion suggested adding an event deck with thematic elements... Sounded reasonable, so I pulled out my clipboard. [whisper]: "He's writing it down..." Suggestion floodgates opened... ...with some solid ideas.

I think I'm about half way along the 7-year path to overnight success as a game designer...

So halfway through my 2nd proto using a 1" cutter, after painstakingly measuring and adding reference lines so I could precisely cut out the desired part-- I turned the cutter upside-down and put the paper in upside-down... #idiotproof #bgprotoskills

My 2018 in prototypes. It was a very productive and interesting year, even if it failed to be lucrative. The simple explanation: I met up more frequently with other designers.

Recently got another playtest on a table... Mockup for 18-card Hook Box contest; ready with a few hours to spare.

So three and a half months later the roaches show up again. But they think they have only been gone for a few minutes... Which... makes sense.

A bit of late #GenCon50 news: Our roaches behaved so well... We let them get out of sight... Oops. We expect them home... any day now...
