Just discovered it’s possible to swipe on the dynamic island to hide or show the info. Aka, turn on/off.
Except that the DI makes it harder to tap to scroll to the top of a page, I’ve grown quite fond of the information it shows me. I’ll be leaving it on.
I struggle still to find iOS widgets that add value to my experience. But live events… this is good. This is gooood.
I dislike when a video player (e.g., Crunchyroll, Netflix) shrinks the video and sets it in the corner during the credits.
Maybe this is an uncommon concern, but it makes it hard to read stuff during the credits when watching videos in a language I’m trying to learn.
Anyway, this short thread brought to you by a number of frustrating issues with the Crunchyroll player on Apple TV.
I remember one time implementing .to_sentence myself, but if my array had 3 or more values the final value disappeared. I reached out to the community for help troubleshooting it and someone suggested .to_sentence.
I’ve never deleted my own code faster than in that moment.
Top two items on my Apple wishlist:
- Let me specify which capable device acts as my Home hub
- Give me the ability to restrict turn-by-turn directions inside a geofence (e.g., not the dozen streets closest to home)
One thing that really bugs me personally when working in a shared or inherited codebase is TODO comments. As a former productivity coach, I struggle to imagine something less likely to ever get done than something marked as a TODO in code comments.
I always loved that little exchange, and really took that to heart. I guess it's the heart of the 2-minute rule. If it takes less than 2 minutes to do, just do it.
