An update on #SeaKraken forward Jacob Melanson:
A graphic with a blue background and the following text in white: Injury Update During Seattle’s opening game on October 1 at Calgary, Jacob Melanson suffered an upper-body injury that was later diagnosed as an anterior mediastinum hematoma with vascular pseudo aneurysm. The organization would like to thank the medical teams in Alberta for their assistance in Jacob’s care. Given his unique injury, Jacob will continue to be evaluated and monitored closely by the medical staff in Seattle through the healing process for a gradual progression to return to hockey.

Gary Bettman believes the NHL has gotten away from the original purpose of no-trade clauses 👀 Bettman says they were intended to protect players signing long-term in a place they wanted to stay, not allow them to demand a trade AND dictate where they’re willing to go. He says if this becomes a bigger problem, the NHL may have to address it with the Players’ Association 🤔
