Is there any intel on the influence @elonmusk will have over U.S. attitudes toward solar, batteries and EVs? He has influence over @realDonaldTrump and the ability to offer insight. Maybe there’s already lots of discussion about this that folks can direct me to?

It’s a precarious situation. We need to carefully & persistently transition away from oil and gas at the fastest rate possible. Too fast and we risk cataclysmic political events…and economic mayhem. Too slow and we risk cataclysmic weather events…and economic mayhem.

The effect of CO2 on the climate is undeniable—as is our reliance on massive amounts of energy to sustain life, economies & political stability. If we simply turned the oil taps off, we’d trigger a climate/energy version of “the bends”. We need gradual, persistent transition.
