As a trauma surgeon, I've always known that Sunnybrook's ED nurses are super heroes. This weekend, a family member was hospitalized and I was reminded of your dedication, kindness, professionalism and skill set. Thank you for all that you do! You are truly lifesavers!

Not only are nurses amazing people, they are essential for patient care. Many hospitals are experiencing an acute shortage of nurses and this impacts everyone. It can be frustrating but may I suggest we show #kindness #respect #gratitude #support to our colleagues and friends. – at Toronto, Ontario

I’ve seen many comments supporting our amazing nurses, but I’m not sure people really understand how serious nursing shortages are until they are a patient. Please treat our remaining nurses with patience, kindness, and respect.

An incredible colleague. So very sad.
We are deeply saddened to share with you that Dr. Todd Mainprize, Division Head of Neurosurgery at Sunnybrook, died Tuesday. We would like to share our sincere condolences on behalf of the entire Sunnybrook team, to his family, friends, and colleagues.

ALT All of those who knew Dr. Mainprize were touched by his intellect and his commitment to patient care. He was a highly respected mentor and educator and had a passion for teaching students, residents, and fellows. He was also a dedicated researcher, who together with his team, pioneered new treatments in neuro-oncology and accomplished a world-first in breaching the blood-brain barrier through focused ultrasound to deliver chemotherapy into the brain tumour of a patient.

Same goes for the people who work behind the scenes in imaging & laboratory medicine (rarely pictured). We rather you spend your long weekend elsewhere
These are just some of the many members of Sunnybrook's trauma team who do not want to meet you this #longweekend.
Please do them a favour: stay out of our trauma bay. Don’t drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. bit.ly/trauma-team
