I've recently built something similar, although mine doesn't contain a battery.

The PCB is done and partially populated but I haven't written any code for the FPGA yet.
I made Europium doped glass! At 2.2wt% the fluorescence isn't super strong but quite pretty! The two drops on the right had 10min longer in the oven and are noticeably less bubbly. Promising but further experiments are needed!
Activate Hivemind! Can someone identify this tube? There are no markings on the base and the number inside (856A5) gives no results.
Recreated one of the tiny mirrors at a scale factor of about 10000x. Maybe I'll build one with magnetic actuation 🤔

Thanks! Here is a closer shot of the "test" array. All the torsion springs are intact, they never had mirrors attached. Might be a nice 3D printing project like the other MEMS devices by @BreakingTaps.
On the edge of the die we found a small field of mirrorless tilting assemblies and an annotated layer stackup.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the smallest of them all?
These DMD elements are a pretty good candiate at about 30µm square.

Electron microscopy image of fractured nacre. The submicron thick layers of calcium carbonate give shells their iridescent appearance. (Captured on the SEM at @FabLabMuc)
Eye of the t̵i̵g̵e̵r̵ fly!
One of many pictures I took with @GigaBecquerel on the SEM at @FabLabMuc
We are currently working on a new image acquisition system and stage controller. Stay tuned for more cool images and maybe even gifs/videos!
