Since twitter is actually fun again, I guess I could re-introduce myself.
Hi, my name is Martin, I’m 31 and from Germany (which I rarely leave).
I'm a software developer working as a technical partner for marketing and creative agencies. I help them deliver WordPress projects that not only impress through great design, but also high technical quality.
When I was 12, I created my first games in RPG Maker 2000. Then, at 14, I developed my first browser game. That’s how I got into programming, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
At 18, I registered my first business. So I’ve basically been working for my own clients “forever”. Even alongside school, college (which I never finished), and while working as an employee.
I’m actually an introvert and shy, but I still spent years on stage as the lead vocalist of a dark electro band, screaming my head off. No idea how that happened.
I’ve never been the classic developer who prefers to solve everything in the CLI and thinks GUIs are for wimps. I do live by the motto “form follows function,” but if something works, why shouldn’t it also look good and be easy to use?
While I work, I usually listen to metalcore or hard electronic dance music, depending on how tricky the problem is at the moment.
When I’m not buried in code, I’m buried in video games. And if you ever want to meet up: I’d love to come, but I’ll need to take public transit because I still don’t have a driver’s license.

On Wednesday, I held my first workshop.
My client, marketing kommunikation thom UG, wanted to understand how to build a truly scalable WordPress site. Separating data from design. Thinking in terms of structures rather than layouts.
The feedback was clear: “This is totally awesome, gives us lots of options, and saves time in the long run.”
Seeing that “click” happen in people’s minds is really awesome, and one thing is certain for me: I want to do this more often!

I've recently started blogging again on my website. I'll talk about stuff directly from projects and also just generall WordPress and web stuff. oh and it's in german.
First post is about a nasty API error when using WPForms' address field and sending data to SalesForce.
WPForms fills both Country and CountryCode with the same value and SalesForce responds with a FIELD_INTEGRITY_EXCEPTION.
I fixed this by digging through the wpforms salesforce integration code and finding an undocumented filter.
