This evening, I held a consultative/reconciliation meeting with leaders, candidates and stakeholders of the NDC in Imo State, led by His Excellency, Chief Achike Udenwa.
We had a very fruitful meeting, and they all agreed to work together for the victory of all candidates of our party, from top to bottom.
I thanked them for attending and for appreciating the efforts I and the party leadership are making in building a strong and united NDC. I urged them to build on this first meeting and hold subsequent meetings to achieve total unity and comprehensive reconciliation that will involve every stakeholder. We also urged all candidates and party leaders to be instruments of reconciliation.
The party will also be sending a team of senior officers to Imo to join the reconciliation efforts soonest.
I thank His Excellency, Chief Udenwa, for the leadership he is providing as State Leader in Imo and urge him to do more with the support of the National Leadership of the party.

There are many things that can be random in life as human expressions. But service is one thing that cannot be random.
The reason is simple. To decide to serve is to commit to the forfeiture of self for the gain and growth of others.
Interestingly, when you do this consistently and it becomes a habit, it begins to look selfless. It looks easy. But it is only easy because you have become comfortable with sacrificing for others.
That is what service means this week.
Let us truly understand what it means to serve the people around us, and let us act as people who have been called to serve.
Your week is already blessed.
Enjoy.

Congratulations to her once again!
The confidence she displayed when she stepped onto the stage, coupled with her powerful delivery, was truly breathtaking. She owned the stage and delivered with such poise and maturity. Absolutely impressive I must say!

The truth is, many of us have lost faith. We have become so used to the way things are that we have stopped believing they can be different.
We worry. We debate. We complain. Then we accept.
But transformation begins with the renewing of the mind.
So perhaps the first thing we must reset is not Rivers State, but the way we see Rivers State, our people, our possibilities, our strength, and our future.
We have gone in directions that have taken so much from us.
Now is the time to believe again.
To imagine again.
To reset.
This week, reset your mind and envision a Rivers State that works for all of us, not just a select few.
Your week is already blessed,
Enjoy.

I have always believed that the strength of Rivers State lies in our unity, not in our differences.
That is why I am pleased to introduce Dr. Mike Nwielaghi of Khana, Ogoni, as my running mate for the 2027 Rivers State Governorship election.
My commitment to a united Rivers State is not a promise for tomorrow. It is a principle I have lived and demonstrated.
Together, our service to the people of Rivers state will reflect that though we are of different communities, we are One Rivers State, One people, with One future.

The APC Campaign Council: Nigerians Deserve a New Direction
I have taken note of the recently constituted APC Presidential Campaign Council, whose composition offers Nigerians a clear picture of the choice before us in the 2027 general election.
The council brings together many of the same political actors who have supported, defended or participated in the present administration. Their coming together raises a fundamental question: what exactly are they asking Nigerians to vote for in 2027, a new beginning, or the continuation of the same system that has brought severe hardship to our people?
The truth is, I see the 2027 election as a struggle between the oppressed Nigerian masses and those who have benefited from, defended and sustained the system responsible for their hardship.
It is concerning to all well-meaning Nigerians whose across the country, their families are struggling with the rising cost of food and basic necessities. Young Nigerians face unemployment and diminishing opportunities. Farmers and businesses are struggling to survive, while millions continue to live with insecurity. Our education, healthcare and other essential public services remain under enormous pressure.
This ruling campaign structure presents another scenario between the oppressors and the oppressed. We must use it come 2027 election to reject continued oppression and demand accountable, people-centred governance. If Osun people can do it, so can all other parts of the country.
I particularly appeal to my brother, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, who has accepted to serve as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, to reflect deeply and reconsider accepting this responsibility.
As a former governor of Zamfara State and a prominent leader from the North-West, I believe Senator Yari has a clear understanding of the devastating consequences of insecurity, poverty, unemployment, displacement and the destruction of livelihoods in the region and the country at large.
I therefore will be surprised if in his good conscience, will lead a campaign whose principal objective is to secure the continuation of a government under which many of the people he once governed, and other innocent Nigerians remain trapped in these challenges?
There is also a serious institutional question concerning the inclusion of the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr Zacch Adedeji, and the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Dr Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi, in the campaign’s fundraising and finance structures.
The leadership of critical public institutions demands neutrality, integrity and public confidence. It is therefore legitimate to ask whether the responsibilities of senior officials entrusted with managing public revenue and national finances can appropriately coexist with senior partisan campaign roles.
The government and the APC should explain how such arrangements are consistent with institutional neutrality and public trust.
Ultimately, no campaign council is more powerful than the Nigerian people. - RMK
