OpenAI Codex Cloud 的環境設定內建 VPN，而 @Tailscale 是目前唯一支援的供應商。在環境設定填一把 auth key，每個雲端任務 VM 啟動時就會加入你的 tailnet，任務可以直接連內部 API、測試服務或私有套件庫。
有趣的是，這不是合作案。Tailscale 是在 Codex Cloud 發表後才發現這件事，OpenAI 用的就是人人都能用的 auth key 加 ephemeral 節點機制。
auth key 有三個設定要注意：
- Reusable：每個任務都是新 VM，一把 key 要能讓很多台加入
- Ephemeral：VM 離線後自動移除，Machines 頁面才不會堆滿
- Tag（例如 tag:codex）：最重要的一項。沒加 tag，VM 會以產生 key 那個人的身分加入，Codex 等於拿到跟你一樣的存取範圍
加了 tag 之後，再用 grants 只開放 Codex 需要的服務和連接埠。這裡有個要注意的點：policy 裡如果還留著預設的全開規則，限制等於沒作用，因為 Tailscale 的規則只放行、不阻擋。要先把全開規則換掉，tag:codex 才會只剩 grants 給它的權限。
限制也不少：只走 HTTP／HTTPS（透過環境設定的 proxy）、只支援 IPv4、沒有 UDP 和 ICMP（ping 不能用，改用 curl 測試），也不能連進 VM 或 SSH。
另外，MagicDNS 和 split DNS 能不能用，Tailscale 部落格和 OpenAI 文件說法相反。保險的做法是先用 IP 測通，再換成主機名稱。
