You have probably seen that post claiming that India manages to conduct elections in one day why can't the US. There are some important facts to note that the MAGA crowd conveniently ignores.
Oh and India's EIC guidelines say every voter should have a polling place no more than 1.25 miles away from their residence.
Yet in most MAGA controlled states the trend is reduce the number of polling places, reduce early voting access, and make mail-in balloting harder.
Trump claiming to rename international waters like Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico by executive order is a world of difference from Congress requiring military bases to be renamed or the Obama administration renaming Mt. McKinley back to the name it had before 1917. #TTTAWT
Trump claimed on the campaign trail that he would drive gas prices down to $2 per gallon. Yet now because of his choice to start an undeclared war against Iran we are supposed to think paying twice that is acceptable? And he is the one who thinks “affordability” is a hoax?
Now that Rep Edwards has dropped his reelection bid, post primary, I’m guessing there will be about zero complaints from the right about how un-democratic it is for NC Republicans to select his replacement. But it was obviously bad, even evil, when Democrats do it.
Trump “promised” to eliminate inflation. To cut energy costs in half, not drive them higher. I’m not denying the inflation in 2022 was bad. But the inflation now is Trump’s fault and the choice to start a war with Iran and impose unnecessary tariffs is all on him.
If the US government issued photo ID that documents citizenship, yes or no, and it was 100% free of charge to absolutely everybody, citizens or not, then maybe there would be more support for requiring proof of citizenship by ID to vote.
You want me to support requiring Voter ID that proves citizenship? Then the Federal Government should proactively provide it free of charge to every single citizen.
The same people complaining that #SCOTUS failed to consider the contemporary discussion around the 14th amendment are the same people who say the phrase “separation of church and state” should be ignored when discussing the 1st because “it’s not in the text of the Constitution”.
This is horrible and a reflection of how the policies of the current administration have been more destructive than constructive. And this survey was taken *before* the war with Iran stressed the economy more!
