Some evenings don’t end when the sun goes down.
They stay somewhere between your memories, your tears, and the person you once loved.
I wrote something about one such evening.

Is this an illusion of your love,
Or an illusion created by mine?
Who knows whose illusion it really is…
Evenings still fall every day,
But somehow,
I still remember that same evening again.
Every day, the Almighty puts me through another test.
And every breath I receive
Feels like a blessing upon me.
When I sing, it turns into memories of you.
And when evening falls,
I hear your voice again.
You still remember that evening in your sorrow,
But why not when you are happy?
Was something missing in your love for me?
Or was there something missing
In the love I gave you?
Perhaps there was something missing in our love.
Whenever I think of it,
I remember your face again.
They say even God does not ruin things without reason
So why does this pain keep coming back?
You forgot the promises you once made,
While I still remember every word you said.
I lost the game between right and wrong,
And now,
I remember all my mistakes again.
Perhaps I had forgotten how to write,
Yet somehow, I remember my pen again.
One evening came before my eyes,
And suddenly,
I remembered your love again.
I could never meet that evening again,
Yet today, through the tears in my eyes,
I remember that evening again.
Silently, secretly, I kept it buried in my heart,
And today, through my words,
I remember that evening again.
Tonight, I remember an evening once again,
That laughing, playful evening once again.
The evening that danced with the rays of the sun
Today, I remember that same old evening again.
