the mask stays 𝐨𝐧.

you didn’t 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 think you were alone, did you .ᐣ we both know you 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 an audience. ( a door slams shut somewhere deep in the home, and for a moment he’s silent, as if gathering his bearings. ) so… how about we finish this conversation in person .ᐣ

( a soft exhale filters through the speaker as a figure quickly crosses her window, casting a shadow that slides across the room. ) come on, selene, you can do better than that. i’m almost inside and you’re no closer to figuring out who i am.

( a faint hiss of static fills the silence before his voice cuts through — low, taunting. ) boredom’s dangerous. people do all sorts of 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒑𝒊𝒅 things when they’re bored… like answering calls they shouldn’t. you’re my entertainment tonight, 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒆.

( his grin widens beneath the mask, the voice modulator crackling as he leans into the phone. ) took you long enough. you always answer unknown numbers this slow, or just when it’s someone 𝒅𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 to talk to you?

the phone’s ringing 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓, aren’t you going to answer?
