Really need rich ppl to go back to doing cool things like buying parts of the Amazon rainforest or funding insane science project instead of buying 500M yachts.
Like you do realize you guys could run an excavation in Egypt for 400K??? Hello??? Lock in.
Need to statusmaxx so I can get away with murderous words on the internet with no one batting an eyelash
The AI honeymoon phase was building a ton of random stuff with it foaming at the mouth with what is possible.
And then it’s realizing you don’t use 99% of what you build.
Solutions for manufactured problems.
Pendulum always swings.
I haven’t had a bf in so long I hold my friends hands when I walk with them just to feel something 🙂↕️💙
I think where we have lost the plot is not tolerance, but acceptance.
Algorithms have trained our brains to make us believe our perfect friends, husbands, wives are out there, but I would argue the most “perfect” relationships are built through curiosity, understanding, compassion, and being okay with the fact that disagreements will happen with those around you. Politically, socially, etc.
Tolerance means you’re sacrificing something to lean towards acceptance, but just acceptance within itself means you take it for what it is and not what you want it to be.
If your only response to conflict with someone is “protecting your peace” I think that’s a you issue.
Was talking to a friend yesterday about equity (company may be going public may be not). They realized you get a lot less than you get.
First you have to sell shares to cover for taxes(-30-50%).
And then don’t forget you have to pay short term capital gains if you sell under a year.
Equity is amazing but in many such cases you get 1/3 of what you originally thought you were getting.
I get AI is giving productivity improvements and all that but right now I'm using
@cfosilvia for personal finances
@instinct for personal agent (love the text feature)
@Muse for other personal agent
@ChatGPT for vibecoding
@perplexity_ai for pulling data and research
Mind you outside of @cfosilvia these switch constantly cause one is always improving.
Balancing all of those together is frying me.
Sustainability beats consistency. If you're consistent unsustainably, you'll burn toast, NGMI.
Sustainability is what consistency looks like over a long time horizon.
Chasing your dreams is not a grandiose thing like you expect it to be tbh. It's a series of small actions that you must persist with. Kind of mundane. But fun.
Whenever I'm going through anything bad, my dad always asks.. "But did you die?"
Good to have some perspective.
To conservatives calling this doomsday for America: Democrats had their own meltdown two years ago when Trump swept back into power. Both parties need a wake-up call. I hope Democrats learned from theirs.
Reading reactions on this app vs reactions outside makes me realize how insulated some of us are from financial struggle. Not everyone is in the top 10% who owns 87% of stocks or making money off of the latest AI boom. Some of you are crying from your ivory tower and it shows, but you’ll never be financially stressed a day in your life.
Trump and his administration promised affordability and America First. Instead, we’re in another war, and his administration requested roughly $67 billion in additional military funding, largely for that conflict.
They deserve to be judged on whether they delivered. On affordability and keeping us out of another war, Americans voted that they failed (true).
Now I hope BOTH democrats and republicans can get their heads out of the sand and focus on truly being America first instead of this political hopscotch.
