Thursday night we go to the Cowboys game. In the 4th quarter the kids and I decide to go get ice cream. On the way my daughter “accidentally” kicks her brother in the privates. Tonight I have the news on in my office and the aftermath of the kick is on the local Sunday night news 😂

Imawhale is hiring a remote bookkeeper. We are a trading firm and our books are complicated. We have accounts across Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings and other platforms, with money moving between them daily. Right now it lives in too many places and we need one person to own it and get everything into a single clean set of books. You would be our first bookkeeper. There is no existing system you have to inherit or work around, so how the books get set up and structured is your call. We need somebody with real experience. If you have only done basic small business books this probably isn't the fit. The right person has cleaned up a mess before and actually likes figuring out why something doesn't tie out. New stuff gets thrown at us all the time, so you cant be someone who gets rattled. You will be working mostly on your own, so you have to be organized and proactive. Fully remote. Historically, September has been a tough month for us. We affectionately call the next month “Red Hot October” as we try to recoup September’s struggles. This September started well. First half of the month, we were winning. In the back of my mind I thought, “It’s September…” but this is prediction markets. It’s different. Well, a week later I can ascertain that September still sucks. This will be the first losing month in @ImawhalePM history, and losing sucks. Food starts to taste bad. The weather sucks. You start wondering how you ever won to begin with. A lot of people talk about their wins and how great this business is, so here’s the alternative view: Prediction markets are becoming the most efficient and narrowest markets I’ve ever seen in this industry. MM margins are getting throttled all the time, while the competition to grow volume, improve technology, and find new angles to overcome those shrinking margins is moving at a feverish pace. That’s what makes it fun. We might not end up being the ultimate grand master champion when it’s all said and done, but just getting to play in this tournament has been an absolute blast. Some BBQ this weekend is going to taste great. And I hear it’s finally cooling down in Texas soon. Red Hot October.

I was skeptical of how big World Cup would be for Predictions. I was certainly wrong. Congrats to @Kalshi on continuing to set new record notional volumes, including today’s all time daily record. Expecting next 6 weeks to be more quiet until football. We will stay busy training our trading team to be ready come Labor Day weekend.

Today we @ImawhalePM crossed 1B in lifetime volume traded on Kalshi. 8 months ago this was just an idea. A few things about us: • We’re a delta-neutral, opinionless market making operation
• Our focus is tight spreads, fast pricing, and deep liquidity across fragmented event markets
• None of this volume came from RFQs
• We make markets across everything from Cricket and Esports to NFL and WNBA
• We recently tripled the size of our trading team
• 2 months ago we launched a live trading division
• We’re still a tiny team relative to the opportunity Most importantly, we definitely do not have all the answers yet. We’ve had wins, mistakes, painful lessons, and plenty of volatility along the way. But this is the most intellectually fun problem any of us have ever worked on. Excited for the next 1B to come a lot faster.

In an intense multiple day, 5 set match against @tonydunsttv. On day 2 we just broke each other 11 games in a row. That seems statistically improbable for solid 4.0/4.5 players. Thoughts @adamlevitan @badams78?

No better way to celebrate @jetsetrach 40th than the Paris Olympics. Our favorite city in the world combined with the excitement and infrastructure of the Olympics was even more than I could have ever imagined. We focused on tennis/food and we scratched 1% of the surface.

I’m so excited for @bet_bash week!! This will be my 3rd year going. Best advice I can give is to arrive with no agenda. Each year I’ve been able to meet so many people, 99% I haven’t done an ounce of business w and it’s all amazing. Ty @spanky and team as always for organizing!
