Before Star Wars, Harrison Ford refused to even call himself an actor.
"People say, what do you do? I would say I'm a carpenter. I would never say I was an actor until I was being paid to be an actor."
- broke and self-taught, he built a recording studio he had never built before off a library book
- then George Lucas walked into the office he was renovating, and everything changed

Ke Huy Quan was a child star in Indiana Jones and The Goonies, then quit acting for over 20 years because Hollywood had no roles for an Asian man.
- he worked behind the camera as a stunt coordinator, and nearly gave up on the dream entirely
then one film pulled him back, and two years later he was crying on the Oscar stage calling it the American dream

Joe Rogan looks extremely bothered when biological war journalist Annie Jacobsen exposes how billions of dollars are being funneled through Gain of Function research and that there are now 110 maximum-security Germ Labs filled with the deadliest diseases in the world:
ROGAN: “How many different countries are involved in this biological war research?”
JACOBSEN: “Biological war is illegal. Biological weapons are illegal unlike nuclear weapons which are perfectly legal somehow.”
ROGAN: “That’s insane.”
JACOBSEN: “In 1972, there was a treaty where everyone agreed to not make biological weapons. It took America 219 days to destroy its entire arsenal of bioweapons.”
ROGAN: “And every country honored this agreement?”
JACOBSEN: “The Soviets actually lied to everyone. They signed the agreement and then start creating massive biological weapon programs.”
ROGAN: “Oh my goddd.”
JACOBSEN: “Even though this is illegal there is a loophole that everyone uses. If you frame it as preventative medical research you can get away with it. This is where Gain of Function comes from.”
ROGAN: “Wow that’s dirty.”
CONTEXT: Annie starts to breakdown the present day maximum-security germ labs. She references “BSL-4 labs” which carry the most dangerous and fatal diseases in the world.
JACOBSEN: “Before 911 the United States only had two BSL-4 labs. After 911 we pumped BILLIONS into gain of function research. We went from having two BSL-4 labs to having 15 BSL-4 labs.”
ROGAN: “😳😳😳”
JACOBSEN: “The world followed our lead so now across the globe we have 110 BSL-4 labs.”
ROGAN: “Oh boy this is a problem.”
JACOBSEN: “We’re not even talking about the BSL-3 labs which contains all sorts of deadly stuff like hantavirus and the plague.”
ROGAN: “How many of those do we have?”
JACOBSEN: “We have 1500 BSL-3 labs just in America. There are 3500 worldwide. 90% of them don’t have any guidelines for safety.”
