Today is the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi and also marks the end of the Season of Creation. 💚
With 2026 being 800 years since his death, Pope Leo declared this to be a special year in which we are all called to become saints in our world.

ALT An illustration showing Saint Francis of Assisi holding a sheep with a deer pressing its nose against him. St Francis loved and believed God wanted people to care for creation. He called all animals his 'brothers' and 'sisters', and is said to have been able to calm wild beasts. He wrote a famous prayer giving thanks to God for the sun, the moon, the water and the earth. We can all learn from St Francis to love and look after our world, and care for creation."

This Sunday, 4 October, marks the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. He saw God's splendour in people, animals, and nature alike. In everything he demonstrated a love for God's creation. Be inspired by Francis' example.
