Labor’s digital duty of care is so bad they’re even going after small business.
So whether you’re a plumber, accountant or cafe owner running a website or social media account, you’ll be forced to complete annual risk assessments unless the minister, through a legislative instrument, provides an exemption.
This red tape hit job would capture well over 1 million Australian businesses but where is the online safety risk?
This is shocking government overreach and utter nonsense.
But Anthony Albanese and Anika Wells don’t care.
They are only interested in giving themselves and the eSafety Commissioner sweeping powers to control what you say and see online.

In a brutal, cold hearted cash grab, Labor is ripping away private health rebates, forcing up to 1.5 MILLION struggling seniors to choose between buying groceries or keeping their medical cover.
Albo would never dream of sacrificing his own elite healthcare, yet he expects older Australians who built this country to cop the pain for his budget disaster.
This isn’t policy, it’s an absolute mugging of our retirees.
The shocking reality of Labor's attack:
Over 1.2 million, and potentially up to 1.5 million, full and part rate pensioners are being aggressively targeted to foot the bill for Labor's financial incompetence.
In an embarrassing display of incompetence, the government completely cooked the books, failing to realise their plan hits 300,000 more seniors than they estimated.
Peak bodies (COTA & National Seniors) are screaming from the rooftops. This short sighted raid will force vulnerable elderly Australians out of private care, triggering an unprecedented collapse of our already buckling public hospital system.
The experts handed Albo easy alternatives to save cash, like cutting fat from overpriced medical devices or taxing high flying millionaires.
Instead, Labor chose to raid the wallets of grandmas and grandpas who have paid taxes for decades.
This is a gutless, out of touch assault on the everyday Australians who can least afford it.

This whole credit card fee schmoozle has just been a massive cost shifting exercise from the banks onto the taxpayer and small business.
Jim Chalmers needs to resign over this and if he doesn’t then Albanese should sack him.
Why should banks be getting a free pass in the middle of a cost of living crisis?
The return on equity of the banks is greater than 10% or in excess of $40 billion despite being backed by the taxpayer whenever things get shaky.
If anyone can absorb the costs of credit cards it’s the banks.
It’s bad enough that Labor is ideologically flawed, but to know the impacts of these costs on small business and do nothing about it is unforgivable.

“Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino has conceded the government knew the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) was considering banning credit card payments in July, months before the decision was made public.
The ATO's decision in late September to stop accepting credit card payments from December 1 sparked backlash from the business community, which eventually forced an intervention from the prime minister and the treasurer to underwrite the costs and allow credit cards to be accepted by the tax office until mid-2027.
Mr Mulino today said he and Treasurer Jim Chalmers were first made aware of the ATO's intentions months ago.”

The Albanese Labor Government has just been caught red handed. New forensic evidence suggests they are using a compromised Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to fabricate a climate crisis that simply does not exist.
A explosive forensic audit led by investigator Tom Berger and retired scientist Geoff Sherrington has uncovered widespread, systematic errors and fake readings within the BOM’s raw climate data.
We aren't talking about minor glitches, we are talking about copy and pasted data designed to make the past look cooler and the present look warmer.
The audit exposed blatant data manipulation at the Sydney Observatory:
•The Fabricated Data: Minimum temperatures from August 1907 were found completely duplicated and inserted into the August 1867 record.
•The Cover-Up: The Australian fact-checked the National Archives and confirmed this "double-up" does not exist in the original handwritten records. The online data used to justify sweeping climate policies is completely wrong.
For years, the BOM has operated on a “trust us” basis. Dr David Evans, the scientist who built Australia’s carbon accounting software, warns that this “secret climate business” mirrors the worst days of fraudulent medical drug trials, where researchers were under immense pressure to exaggerate results to fit a narrative.
Labor is terrified of an independent audit because they know their Net Zero house of cards will collapse if the public sees the real numbers.
Dr Jennifer Marohasy confirmed that outside of Adelaide, there has been no proper audit of Australia's weather stations.
If our historical data is corrupted with fake inputs, the AI forecasting models used for future planning become entirely useless.
The Albanese Government doesn't want the data audited because the data doesn't support their narrative.
They are destroying our economy, killing our energy grid, and forcing Net Zero targets on regular Australians based on copy and pasted climate fiction.

The hottest day ever officially recorded in Australia, using a standard Stevenson screen at a government weather station, was 125 °F (51.7 °C) on Sunday, 3 January 1909, at Bourke, New South Wales.
For decades this was long recognised as Australia’s hottest day.
However, it didn’t fit the “global warming” narrative. For if, as alarmists assert that “climate change” is causing unprecedented record heat, how could our hottest-ever day have occurred back in 1909?
So just as Orwell described in 1984, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) rewrote history. "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute ….. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
The BOM’s excuse for erasing this record was that the observer at the Bourke Post Office in January 1909 supposedly made a mistake. "Observer error" someone at the BOM decided from a desk in Canberra a century later.
The BOM’s justification for declaring it a “mistake” was the assertion that no nearby weather station recorded a similar temperature spike on the same day, so therefore the 125 °F reading at Bourke must have been an error.
But that claim by the BOM is a LIE.
Before COVID, I personally visited the Australian National Archives to examine the original handwritten meteorological observation books because I no longer trusted the BOM after some of their earlier data manipulations.
The archived observation book from the official weather station at Brewarrina — the nearest official station to Bourke, just 100 km away — recorded a maximum temperature of 50.6 °C (123 °F) on the very same day in January 1909. The hottest temperature ever recorded there.
Thus, we had two official government weather stations only 100 km apart both independently recorded extreme heat on the same day: Bourke 125 °F and Brewarrina 123 °F.
Game, set, match.
The Bourke record must be reinstated and the BOM held accountable for their malfeasance and fraudulent attempt to rewrite our history.
One of my regrets is that the human-rights abuses inflicted upon Australians during the COVID years, along with the malfeasance at the TGA, distracted me from pursuing this matter in Parliament further at the time.
Any organisation that can so brazenly and fraudulently tamper with historical data, as the BOM has done, simply cannot be trusted.
I’d bet London to a brick that the very same people at the BOM who fraudulently altered our climate history have their fingers all over the $100 million of taxpayers’ money they’ve spent “updating their website”.
There should be a full investigation into the Bureau of Meteorology.

Let's talk about MISINFORMATION and FAKE NEWS, Anika Wells - Minister for Communication.
You said at the National Press Club - and stated as a position of fact:
"...where a billionaire can buy a platform and strip it of moderation."
This is very clearly a reference to @elonmusk purchasing Twitter.
You are a government minister proposing some of the largest fines in the history of social media - and yet you are beginning your objective from a position of untruth.
Twitter - now X - was NOT 'stripped of moderation'.
X has - and has always had - one of the stricter and more responsive systems of automatic and user-reported community safety guidelines in the industry.
X responds faster to complaints than the government - that's for sure.
None of these systems disappeared. None of them vanished.
To imply that X has been 'stripped of moderation' is to spread misinformation about an individual, their intent, and the company activity for the purpose of justifying a new law with severe financial consequences.
What did Elon Musk do that upset the Australian government so much?
He made public the previously secret 'takedown orders' made during the Covid pandemic which robbed victims of government policy of their voice. The Australian government - quite literally - tried to silence the injured and bereaved. The government tried to silence information and scientists who disagreed with a political policy that cost lives, broke privacy laws, broke human rights norms, and forever crippled the economy.
The government leaned on social media - threatened social media - and made social media complicit in HIDING the serious consequences of their Covid and Climate Change policies.
A relationship they obviously want to re-establish via the coercive force of fines.
In other words, Elon Musk embarrassed the government and exposed censorial demands that go against public expectation. And the government want it stopped.
Elon Musk also removed OVERT POLITICAL CENSORSHIP that had been silencing conservatives online and removing criticism of progressive and left-wing policy and narratives. That is - and in particular - he removed Covid, Climate Change, and biological censorship that was corrupting the truth with political propaganda.
Musk REMOVED a layer of political influence from X and in doing so left-wing governments around the world immediately had an angry public on their hands and the consequences are being felt at elections.
Anika Wells should be forced to RETRACT and APOLOGISE for her comments and the untruth that she said in front of the National Press Gallery while speaking from a position of power.
And if not, let's hope Elon Musk can use this against the Australian government in the future.

A destructive foreign ideology takes the scent of familiar ideas and walks in as if it belongs.
It speaks the native vocabulary, justice, equality, compassion, rights, progress. It uses these words and quietly changes what they point to.
Then it moves inward.
It alters how foundations are perceived. Responsibility is made to smell like cruelty, law like oppression, borders like hatred, tradition like danger, history like guilt.
At that point, the civilization turns on itself.
Its courts, universities, churches, media, and bureaucracies begin treating their own foundations as threats. They believe they are defending the system.
They are enforcing what now smells legitimate. They do not see the intruder because it sounds exactly like them.
And when the founding principles are finally removed, discredited, dismantled, erased, the foreign ideology does not need to conquer anything. It inherits what is left.
The queen is gone. The colony is no longer itself.
The most effective conquest is the one that convinces a society that its own foundations are the enemy, and that killing them is an act of virtue.
