Based on the information currently available to us, we cannot confirm that Starshield’s full capabilities have been restored. Four (4!) days after we submitted our inquiries, we have yet to receive a response from the Pentagon or SpaceX. We hope to receive confirmation that unlimited speeds have been restored and that Starshield is operating as it did previously, providing reliable communications essential to protecting our people amid intensified Russian aerial attacks.

04.03.1994: US President Bill Clinton praises Ukraine’s courageous decision to surrender its nuclear arsenal, pledging full American support for its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also considers it unlikely that Russia would ever attempt to seize Crimea.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Ukraine's Operation Carpet isn't about shutting down Moscow's airports. There's a bigger picture.

We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families. Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating. We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink. Has the speed been fully restored to what it was before? No. Is it being restored now? Yes. From a conversation with media representatives in Brussels. (2/3)

We warned that if sanctions are eased anywhere in Europe, others will quickly – we see it – take advantage of it. And now we can see how cash will start flowing back into Russia through the “Diesel Deal.” This “Diesel Deal” will never be enough to offset the impact of the Strait of Hormuz on global markets. But it will put more money straight into Putin’s pocket to fund this war. We need a strong 22nd EU sanctions package. And please, we need real sanctions against every company and every person involved in making Russian ballistic missiles, advanced communications systems and drones – and those involved in Russia’s financial system. From an address to the participants of the European Council meeting. (3/5)

People need to understand that the only reason Trump backed down on SpaceX and Starshield so quickly is that he got push back right away, politically and from Ukraine. He is a bully and a coward. Stop criticising Zelensky for standing up to him.

So the story was exactly as people imagined: it was Elon's idea to throttle Starshield, which he then shared with Trump. Due to the massive backlash and fear of losing business in Europe, the decision was quickly reversed. However, since they didn't want to help Zelenskyy in any way, credit for the reversal was given to former Ukrainian Defence Minister Fedorov, who had previously been dismissed by the Ukrainian president. The decisions of these two small, greedy men may have cost many Ukrainian soldiers and civilians their lives. An absolute disgrace.
EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph. The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries. ‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement. But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe. The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown. ‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.
