I will be speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team this week to discuss Starshield, sanctions, and other matters pertaining to the defense of our strong ally, Ukraine. I will be assuring President Zelenskyy that anyone who attempts to limit the use of Starshield for Ukraine will be fully investigated and will be held fully accountable, to include public congressional oversight hearings, and immediate harsh and punitive budget cuts to any responsible agency or agency head.
Congress will unequivocally reaffirm that Ukraine is an indispensable ally to the United States, that Russia is a self-declared enemy of the United States, and that the United States will 100% support and defend the people of Ukraine in their fight for their own freedom against this brutal, illegal, and unprovoked Russian invasion.
The United States must provide any and all defensive equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself. The United States must not import a single drop of Russian oil. Sanctions against the Russian regime must be harsher and stronger than they’ve ever been before. Each and every one of these items will be brought to the House Floor—and each and every one of these items will pass on the House Floor by an overwhelming margin.
This is, after all, what Ronald Reagan would do. And this is what we will do now. Ukraine can, and will, defeat Russia. #PeaceThroughStrength

The trend this year continues – since the start of fall, our warriors have liberated more territory than the Russians have managed to capture. The same was true at other points this year. We continue to press the Russians at the front.
Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Velykomykhailivka are all under Ukrainian control. We are also defending the areas near Kramatorsk and destroying Russian forces 20 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, not 5, as someone over there in Russia is snowing Putin.
Our front is strong, and I thank every warrior and every one of our units that is carrying out its tasks in full.

Krievijas medijos un diplomātiskajos aizkulisēs parādījusies ziņa: Putins piedāvā nākamnedēļ vai nākamnedēļās rīkot trīspusēju tikšanos ar Donaldu Trampu un Sji Dzjiņpinu, lai "izlemtu Ukrainas jautājumu". Zelenskis un Eiropas līderi pie galda nav aicināti.
Ko šis manevrs patiesībā nozīmē un kāpēc mums Latvijā un Baltijā uz to jāskatās bez rozā brillēm?
1. Atgriešanās pie 1945. gada loģikas.
Putina pasaules uzskatā mazas un vidējas valstis nav suverēni spēlētāji — tās ir teritorijas, par kurām vienojas kodollielvalstis. Mēģinājums iesēdināt pie viena galda Vašingtonu, Maskavu un Pekinu, lai lemtu par Eiropas valsts robežām bez pašas Ukrainas klātbūtnes, ir tiešs mēģinājums sagraut starptautisko tiesību sistēmu. Ja pasaule pieņem, ka trīs līderi var pārzīmēt Ukrainas karti, tad princips "neko par mums bez mums" pārstāj eksistēt.
2. Ko tas nozīmē Baltijas drošībai?
Latvijai, Lietuvai un Igaunijai šāds precedents ir eksistenciāli bīstams. Mūsu drošība balstās uz stingru noteikumu ievērošanu un alianses (NATO) vienotību, nevis lielvaru savstarpējiem darījumiem. Ja Ukrainas jautājums tiek "atrisināts" ar teritoriālām piekāpšanām aiz slēgtām durvīm: • Krievija gūst apstiprinājumu, ka militāra agresija atmaksājas un robežas var mainīt ar spēku; • Maskava iegūst stratēģisko pauzi, lai atjaunotu armiju un militāro rūpniecību pie mūsu robežām; • Nākamais Kremļa ultimāts pēc dažiem gadiem jau var skart NATO austrumu flanga arhitektūru, prasot "buferzonas" vai sabiedroto spēku izvešanu no Baltijas.
3. Ēsma Vašingtonai un lamatas Pekinai
Šis piedāvājums ir perfekti pielāgots Trampa vēlmei slēgt tiešus, vēsturiskus "darījumus" un parādīt sevi kā vienīgo, kurš spēj ātri izbeigt karu. Savukārt Sji iesaistīšana ir mēģinājums piespiest Ķīnu kļūt par Krievijas iekarojumu garantu. Taču Ķīnai tas ir slidens ceļš — atklāta nostāšanās blakus Putinam Ukrainas sadalīšanā nozīmētu dramatisku attiecību saraušanu ar Eiropas Savienību, kas ir Pekinas galvenais eksporta tirgus.
4. Kāpēc Kremlis to nopludina tieši tagad?
Pat ja šāds samits šādā formātā nekad nenotiks, Putins savu minimālo mērķi jau ir sasniedzis. Idejas iemešana publiskajā telpā tieši pirms ASV vidustermiņa vēlēšanām un gaidāmās Trampa vizītes Ķīnā sēj dziļu neuzticību starp Kijivu, Eiropas galvaspilsētām un Vašingtonu.
Secinājums Eiropai un mums:
Sarunas par karu Ukrainā bez Ukrainas nav miera process — tā ir kapitulācijas uzspiešana. Un tas, ka šajā Putina vīzijā Eiropa pat netiek pieminēta, ir kārtējais atgādinājums: Eiropai (un īpaši mūsu reģionam — Baltijai, Polijai, Ziemeļvalstīm) ir maksimāli strauji jābūvē pašiem savs militārais mugurkauls. Mēs nevaram atļauties situāciju, kurā par Eiropas drošību spriež trīs vīri citā kontinentā.
Vēsture mūs jau reiz ir mācījusi, kas notiek, kad lielvaras zīmē kartes bez mums. Otrreiz uz šī grābekļa uzkāpt nedrīkst.

I was just walking home, approaching my building, when the explosions started.
Reports say, Russia launched eight missiles from two S-400 systems, targeting our energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian monitoring channels warn this may have been only the FIRST wave, with more missiles prepared.

🇱🇹 BREAKING: Lithuania says an attempt was made overnight to set fire to a company storing Starlink communications equipment used by Ukraine, in an incident Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius has linked to Russia’s suspected hybrid warfare campaign against Europe.
The attempted arson took place at around 2 a.m. According to Sinkevičius, the company had already been warned by Lithuanian security services about possible attacks, prompting it to strengthen security at the site. The attempt was ultimately prevented, and incendiary liquids were found at the scene in containers ranging from 3 to 5 litres, as well as a 10-litre canister.
The company supports nine Starlink satellite antennas used by Ukraine, making the facility relevant to communications supporting Kyiv.
Lithuanian officials have confirmed that the incident is under investigation. Police Commissioner General Arūnas Paulauskas said officers worked through the night collecting evidence and examining the scene. No suspects have been detained so far, and the company’s operations were not disrupted. Any damage is believed to be minimal.

🇱🇹 BREAKING: An attempted ARSON ATTACK targeted a Lithuanian company storing STARLINK communications equipment shortly after midnight on October 18.
Lithuania’s Prime Minister confirms that security services had ALREADY WARNED the company about possible attacks, prompting heightened security.
The attack was unsuccessful.
The revelation comes just hours before a separate suspected drone incursion triggered RED air alerts and a NATO fighter scramble over Lithuania.
No connection between the two incidents has been established.
