Wow! Today, @BigCommerce's #opensource #grpc #ruby framework #gruf hit 2M (!) downloads. So thrilled to see it helping others. Thanks for using it! github.com/bigcommerce/gruf #oss @BigEng
The year is 2076, AI swarms ravage the world, until one lone teenager saves humanity by running around screaming, “David Mayer!”, and all is still again.
Well good on them I’d be wanting to escape 200 years of needles too

In my 10th year at #bigcommerce, proud of being a part of 10 years of 100% BFCM uptime. WTG team! Truly a organization-wide effort.

ERCOT won't be credible until they start communicating honestly. They completely left out the fact that 6,600 megawatts of gas and coal plants are currently offline. That's >30% higher than typical. They also got the hours wrong. 1/🧵#txlege #txenergy #energytwitter

I am on page 24 and JESUS LUPITA NYONG'O CHRIST.
HOW this man still has the capacity to shock me after everything that's happened, i'll never know.
but I am sitting here *STUNNED*.

"It was clear we needed to find a replacement mesh. And we needed to yank the carpet out from under our service-oriented architecture without anyone noticing," says Principle #SoftwareEngineer @splittingred.
Read about the process at bigeng.io/service-mesh/.
We did a thing! How we hot-swapped our service mesh to #envoy and #consulconnect at @BigCommerce: bigeng.io/service-mesh/ @BigEng #servicemesh #devops #engineering #hashicorp
Ok, currently trying out Mastodon at @splittingred@ruby.social - feel free to follow me there! Going to only post there for a while.
I am curious as to what will socially happen on this website when eventual consistency breaks. Or tweets get misattributed. Or timeline ordering fails. Millions of users experiencing that at the same time will be fascinating. #RIPTwitter
Nature is wild.
No matter the language, we exchange information at 39 bits/second, suggesting a biological limit. Languages that are lower information density are spoken fast (Spanish & Japanese) while denser languages are spoken more slowly (Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese). advances.sciencemag.org/cont…
