I just used Chat GPT to write code that calls the Chat GPT API in order to generate more code. I'm both impressed and appalled at myself.

Mitch Hedberg (RIP) had a great joke about baked potatoes. He would have loved 3d printing.

Shout-out to the guy at my @momentumdevcon session who asked a question that momentarily stumped me. You, sir, are the impetus for a few new slides that will make it into my CodeMash deck. Gonna go ahead and clear up that confusion head-on.

Replying to @slinganswers
@slinganswers The Big Ten Network has been showing ""we'll be right back" for a long time now. Missing Ohio State v Minnesota. WHY?

Been studying nosql one-table design patterns as I prepare to start our first cloud-native project. I think I get it, lay things out in NoSQL Workbench, and then try explaining it to someone and realize nope, I still don't totally get it. Getting closer though.

Trying to integrate with a 3rd party verification service. Service relies on transmission of PII. They do not offer a test environment or test data, saying all testing should be done against production APIs. So, they want us to use real PII to test during development. Uh, no.

It used to be that Windows was frequently unstable and rebooting fixed everything. These days, my computer runs perfectly stable UNTIL I reboot, at which time Bluetooth, camera, and audio settings randomly change or devices stop working.

You can’t go to a BOWLING ALLEY, to a restaurant, to work, to the mall, to a grocery store, to your church, to the movies or the bank. You can’t attend a concert, go to a dance class or go to see your doctor. You can’t ring a doorbell, use a leaf blower, hop in a car, pull down a driveway, bounce a ball, or ask the neighbor to keep it down. You can’t check out a farmer’s market or pick up a package at the post office or go to a Fourth of July parade, and you certainly can’t send your kids to school without worrying that someone will get shot. That someone you LOVE will get shot. Or that YOU will get shot. This is where we are now. This is not normal. This upside down reality is being imposed upon us by those who equate firearms with freedom. This is anything BUT freedom. And. This. Is. Not. A. Reality. We. Have. To. Accept.

Good news: all my home automation stuff is working properly, and a water leak sensor correctly pushed an alert to the panel in my foyer. Bad news: same

Tomorrow night at COJUG I'll be giving my "Practical Auth for Developers" talk. If you get all twisted up over the difference between OAuth and HMAC and JWT, or how API Keys relate to passwords, then now's your chance to get straightened out! cojug.org/
