@cisforcaren @Graham_Couch I don't know if we will ever return to spontaneous pickup sports, but we lose something without it. No pressure.

Sacha Baron Cohen has made a career out of rendering himself unrecognizable. He’s played the lovable but ignorant reporter Borat, the fashion- and fame-obsessed narcissist Bruno, and the hip-hop idiot Ali G.
This Sunday, Baron Cohen sits down with 60 Minutes’ Ariel Levy to talk about his career, his unforgettable characters and what’s next.
Ben Affleck says the "high-school bullying" of Tom Cruise's "Digger" will only lead to Hollywood studios making more "sh*tty" movies.
"Everybody wants to celebrate this bomb as if it’s the most exciting thing to happen. And you think like, it’s a pretty ambitious, interesting movie made by interesting people who have talent. Everybody wants to count the money, what it lost or whatever. To me, I just think, if you punish movies that take risks, guess what you're going to get? A bunch of sh*tty homogenized movies. You cannot do something interesting without taking a big swing. And that means you're going to sometimes look bad." (via Happy Sad Confused)

Everybody gets really pissed off when I say this and it causes World War III on Twitter, but what the hell. Everything said about Pet Sounds is true. For three songs. Wouldn't it be nice. Sloop John B. God Only Knows. Those three are amazing. Which is the pattern of all of the Beach Boys' albums when they are not including previously released tracks. The difference is these three songs are historic productions creatively, which had the wonderful unexpected result of pushing the Beatles to their greatest work. And that is obviously something the world can be grateful for. But all due respect to the masses that worship it, the rest of the album doesn't do a thing for me. There is no Beatles, Stones, Byrds, Kinks, or Who album that track for track doesn't have more great songs on it. It's not a close call. Having said that, the best thing about Art in general is it is the gift that keeps on giving, because one's perception of it changes from time to time. So maybe five years from now I will finally get it. Like everybody else.

"A couple of Brian Wilson songs on Pet Sounds." McCartney: "It may be going overboard to say it's the classic of the century – but to me, it certainly is a total, classic record that is unbeatable in many ways. I've often played Pet Sounds and cried."

When I first started the @honnoldfound, I was pretty much a dirtbag climber living out of my van in Yosemite and pursuing my goals in climbing. But I also knew that I wanted to do something a bit more useful in the world. So for our work at HF to be recognized by @TIME, not just because of my climbing, is pretty neat.
So far, we've committed more than $23M to support 200+ solar projects across 20+ countries, from the United States to the Amazon. But there's still a massive pipeline of need out there.
One of our main goals is to not trying to build an endowment, because there's no point in saving for some future day when there's so much potential tosupport communities, right now. Any gift we get goes straight to Partners' projects. So if you're someone who wants to see some good happen in the world, consider making a donation to HF, and we'll keep funding more good work.
You can also read the full article to learn more about HF's latest work and hear a few examples from our partner projects.
Oh, and It feels important to mention that the real trailblazers are the community leaders who champion solar solutions in their communities.

Skubal is locked in, focused, healthy, seemingly ready to will this team into the playoffs. 12k's tonight, and the bats did...just enough. It feels like a division championship is more and more out of reach, but there is that sense that the Tigs would be a scary wild card to face

Happy 75th Dad!
Today I'm remembering your weirdness and your extraordinary capacity to love.
And for the folks out there who'd like to celebrate with me, go do something kind for someone. Make someone laugh. Put a little more good into the world.
Love you forever.

We want answers from Scott and AJ. Why is this team refusing to try and get better? Why is AJ managing the starters like he has a pen full of all-stars? Why is Scott ok with rolling out sub .200 hitters regularly instead of holding them accountable? We want answers!!!!!

Just heard the news on #ClaudeLemieux
This is extremely sad no matter what feelings from past or present you hold. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and people who got to see the person off the ice wasn’t the person on. As I’ve said and will always call it as I see it
“If your on the ICE with Claude Lemieux and your turn your back. YOU Are an IDIOT.
But off the ICE I’ll turn mine”
And please. If you are struggling at all please reach out and talk to someone
Godspeed my friend

Stephen Colbert's first post–Late Show move: guest-hosting a public access show in Monroe, Michigan. Jack White was the deadpan musical director. Steve Buscemi read a pizza ad. They ate hot dogs Lady and the Tramp–style. The president is furious. As for Colbert? He seems just fine.
