New polling of Massachusetts voters suggests that this blue slate is not likely to turn red – or even purple – any time soon.

Looooool So the GOP paid this kid $250k for viral marketing. And instead they gave El-Sayed his strongest clip of the cycle! Amazing!
Tommy, who worked as Josh Hawley’s ops director, is the son of Bobby Jindal’s longtime COS, Tim Teepell, who is listed as the principal for Breakthrough LLC. This month, Jindal’s dark money group paid $250,000 to Breakthrough LLC, for influencer marketing opposing Abdul El-Sayed.

For those of you not from DC - this means runners, bicyclists, families, sightseers would all be displaced from Hains Point - so that a high-end golf course could be built minutes from the U.S. Capitol and White House.
Trump releases his plan to re-do the East Potomac Park golf course in DC. His graphic does not show the current road which runs around Hains Point, or the picnic and memorial areas at the end. Getting rid of those public areas would be terrible.

Republican candidate for Lt. governor, Chairman of the New Bedford Republican Committee and New Bedford City Councilor Shawn Oliver was arrested and charged with of operating under the influence of alcohol after he reportedly crashed his vehicle early Sunday morning. We reached out to the Mike Minogue @mikeminoguema campaign for comment. “We are still learning the facts on what happened and hope and pray no one was hurt. If it is true, Shawn will need to take responsibility for his actions. Driving under the influence is not acceptable. I am grateful to law enforcement for their response last night and their daily work keeping our communities safe. I will have further comments when we learn more.” - Mike Minogue

MAGA has a problem. A big problem. This isn't just "Tommy," a random Republican, you see. This is Thomas Teepell, son of Gov. Jindal's chief of staff and former ops director for Sen. Josh Hawley. He's a PROFESSIONAL Republican. And he made a campaign ad for El-Sayed. El-Sayed is a progressive. He likes big government solutions. He wants the government to do more things and have more power. He thinks this is the best way for government to help people. He's wrong, of course. Republicans could easily challenge him on his policy ideas. But they can't. You see, Donald Trump and the postliberal MAGA movement that has attached itself to him also like big government solutions. They also want the government to do more things and have more power. They also think this is the best way for government to help people. They're wrong, of course. They only disagree on the details. And so Tom Teepull, a professional Republican, sets up El-Sayed with an absolute softball question like a complete amateur. He makes himself look foolish. He creates a viral moment for a Democrat. He's starring in their campaign ads and he didn't even get paid. This is all that Republicans have left: Culture war. They can't disagree with Democrats who want to impose their left-wing collectivist economic central planning by force, because they also want to impose left-wing collectivist economic central planning by force. So they attack his religion in an attempted "gotcha" moment that completely backfires. We've seen this happen repeatedly. It's not isolated to this one incident. Just look at the attacks on Mamdani - they are almost all either attacking his religion or attacking gay people. They cannot challenge his socialist ideas, because to challenge Mamdani's socialism is to challenge Trump's socialism. When they attack Elizabeth Warren, it's over her debunked claims to be Native American, not the economic views she shares with Tom Teepull's former boss Josh Hawley. This is becoming the GOP MO: ad hominem to hide how similar their own socialist views have become. This is why Republicans will lose. Not just electorally, but morally, intellectually, and culturally. Republicans have decided to be nothing more than rude and stupid Democrats. They stand for nothing. They claim to defend "Western civilization" while attacking the classical liberal Enlightenment principles that Western civilization is built on. They have become a movement based entirely around a single individual, whose policies are incoherent and whose ideas have been proven wrong over and over again. There is nothing left of the Republican Party but their bigotry, and as we can see, it is not only repugnant, but irrational.
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

The law be damned, Trump is going to close East Potomac Park on Nov 15. The "redesign" eliminates picnic areas, bike lanes, playgrounds, everything to give the rich a fancy golf course. Completely illegal, too - the park was created by Congress for the people

Weird that Afleck understands this but Anthropic doesn't. Pope Leo gets it too.
Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling “Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word." "That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person." "But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”

So it looks like the Kennedy Center was being used as a slush fund for foreign bribes. No wonder Trump installed Grennell there initially.
Alina Habba Mildon initially told Trump that the $17mn bank transfer at the heart of her spat with Grenell came from her husband. But when her lawyers later presented White House the wire receipt, the sender was redacted. The money actually came from the government of the DRC.

Regular reminder: Bill Essayli, an election misinformation superspreader, was disqualified as U.S. Attorney, and has been serving in the manufactured role of a "First Assistant" to a vacant seat, even though the Ninth Circuit found that's not permissible. He's provided no public evidence that any of the 20,000 ballots were sent to noncitizens beyond DOJ's noncommittal claim that it's "likely," on which basis he demands the disenfranchisement of tens of thousands of voters. When DHS claimed there were 15,000 registered noncitizens in Nevada, feds revised the number to 183, and a review found the number was actually zero. It's substantially more likely that Essayli will be forced out of his position for serving there illegally than he will be able to prove any of the election conspiracies he's been peddling at Trump's behest since the California primary. A federal judge all but indicated this week that Essayli is in his office on borrowed time. news.bloomberglaw.com/litiga…
That's not true. The 20k represents the number of noncitizens confirmed by a review of federal databases. This has been confirmed by @USCIS and @HSI_HQ. The data has been provided to California, and they are free to check the work. But that suggests California is actually interested in complying with federal election laws.

This was NOT a mistake. This was a deliberate voter suppression tactic that was deployed with the hopes that no one would notice. First: We need an immediate influx of help to get these registrations processed before Monday. Second: We need a ROBUST process to ensure that anyone who votes using a provisional ballot is able to track and confirm that their vote was tallied. Third: We MUST vote in numbers that exceed the suppression gap. Fourth: Once the election is over, I want to see an immediate investigation launched into who knew what and when - starting with the question of why the state’s top election official (Sec. of State) abruptly resigned only a couple of months before this election, only to be replaced by Greedy Greg’s handpicked election-denying, tin-foil-hat-wearing lackey? DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS, (expletive). 😤😤😤
NYT: Glitch Delays 600,000 Voter Registrations in Texas as Early Voting Looms A computer error caused a backlog of hundreds of thousands of voter registrations in Texas, sending election workers scrambling to process them before early voting starts on Monday, county election officials said. nytimes.com/2026/10/15/us/po…
