the way they nerfed sokka is a crime against humanity they stripped him of all his nuance his leadership his military and tactical intelligence his determination even his sarcasm and pessimism all his depth gone just to make him comedic relief in a goofy dumb himbo bolin way 🫩🫩

and ofc ik sokka didn't have that much screen time in the movie but that's not an excuse for completely ignoring his character and ofc in atla he is the funny one and he can be silly (usually w aang) but he's like actually funny😭 along with all those qualities i listed AND MORE

My ranking of each first season of the Avatar franchise (NOT counting the Netflix adaptation because fuck that): 🥇: A7H Book 1: Survival (no this is NOT recency bias. It's actually fucking peak) 🥈: ATLA Book 1: Water 🥉: TLOK Book 1: Air

full season ops - v glad it wasn't vaatu, the show rlly grew on me as it went, the story, world building etc is great pavi and nisha ESP NISHA are my babiesss i love karthik, still think the VA/dialogue and ofc animation+bending isn't great, solid 7/10 imo, so much potential tho
❦ (@sp1dercfc) profile picture❦@sp1dercfcOct 9
i don't think im the target audience for this show it feels/looks very childlike i don't like the 2 avatars thing + i think vaatu is gna come back which ill hate the voice acting/dialogue aren't great BUT the world is cool + the story seems interesting so i will be watching loll

I say this with every fibre of my being..... Seven havens has the better start of any Avatar show and has the potential to be greater than any of them.

defending my op since this blew up a lil - he sounds the same age as 15yr old sokka, the og VA lowkey had a deeper voice + just had so much more nuance, depth, variety to his voice i guess it fits the portrayal of sokka in the movie - slapstick dumb BUT THATS NOT THE REAL SOKKA

unpopular opinion: tlok needed aaron ehasz, the legend of aang needed aaron ehasz, the comics needed aaron ehasz, the pavi show will need aaron ehasz. ppl forget he is just as important (maybe more) as bryke
